Weekend Steals & Deals | Date Night & Weekend Style

If you need me this weekend, I’ll be knee deep in trying to get my home office presentable for her big girl portraits on Monday morning!  Eeek!  The One Room Challenge ends next Wednesday and I’ve been running around like a crazy person this week pulling decor items from several stores and thinking in the back of my mind, “I can always return this if it doesn’t work out”, but better to buy and have options than not have what you need.  Which has let me to a long list of returns to complete next week!
And my contributor post for I Heart Organizing is also due on Monday and I still need to photograph and put that together.  For Jen, I’ll be sharing a few organizational tips that help our household run smoother, and that post will be live later next week on her blog and I’ll share the link if you want to check it out.
Even though there’s lots to do on the blog front, we’ll still be making sure to take time to celebrate our wonderful Mom with a dinner out on Saturday evening.  I feel beyond blessed to have been given the Mom that I have and we have been super close all my life, even though I’m sure I did drive her crazy in my teen years.  This Mother’s Day gift might help smooth some of that over!  I’m fortunate to be very close with my own son now and have Jordan to look forward to that special mother/daughter relationship.  Life is very sweet right now and I don’t take it for granted for a second, especially with all we’ve been through last year.  I hope YOU enjoy your weekend and have a wonderful Mother’s Day with your family!

date night darling

This week, I have two looks to share that I return to time and time again.  The first is a date night look and the second is weekend casual (can I get an amen for jean shorts?!).
I know it’s bad, but my husband and I used to hardly ever go out on ‘dates’ where it was just the two of us.  We are that couple that enjoy having our son around so much (and not having a regular babysitter didn’t help), so we always just took him out to eat with us.  Now that we have Grandma available to babysit, we’ve been taking full advantage and trying to head out and enjoy date night alone or with our friends more often.  The bonus is that James loves spending time with Grandma and our homebody of a son is more than happy to hang with her in his pjs while we go out.
My Date Night Uniform = skinny jeans + heels + flattering top & jewels (statement necklace, bracelet and ring).
very similar tunic is now 33% off (under $30) and that one has nearly 600 positive reviews.  This one in burgundy and coral is also 40% off.

I’m again wearing my ultra soft, comfy and slimming skinny jeans that are budget friendly at $69.  I can’t say enough good things about these jeans.  #luckyfind!  If you get them, let me know if you love them as much.
My spikey gold necklace came in my Rocksbox subscription (your 1st month is free with my code HONEYWEREHOMEXOXO), but this similar statement necklace in gold will give the same look, and it’s only $26!

ring (25% off) | bracelets here here here (all 25% off)
Less is usually more when it comes to rings for me, but I do have a few statement rings that I like to wear on my first or middle finger for added drama to an outfit.  Henri Bendel is one of my favorite places for accessories.  I’ve had a few things from there for years that I reach for again and again when accessorizing an outfit.   They’re currently offering 20% your first online order and have some great pieces on sale.  I’m crazy for this petal stack ring!

What’s your go-to date night look?
weekend style

We’ve been having the most gorgeous, enjoyable weather lately.  We’re talking blue, sunny skies without humidity and temps in the 80s.  I guess we were due for some good weather given all the terrible rainstorms a few weeks ago.  If I had to pick one clothing item to wear for most of the year, it’s my trusty jean shorts.  They are what I grab first for being at home and running around on the weekends in.

This plaid top is 100% cotton and was thin enough to wear with shorts for our current temps.  Would also be cute with white jeans
Did you catch the Ray-Ban aviator fit trick?  Ever since I learned, I haven’t taken mine off- making up for lost time! ha!
It was a close race, but these boyfriend style jean shorts have replaced my GAP jean shorts as my very favorite pair.  I love how they feel and the casual look.  When I tried them on originally they fit great, but they got all tight when I washed and dried them and I freaked out for a minute, but then they stretched out again after I had them on for about an hour. Phew!
