our beautiful baby girl, Jordan Nicole.

We’re still in a cocoon-like state over here, just loving on her and getting to know each other.  It’s like slow motion, letting this process unfold and discovering each other a little more each day.

I’m taking it easy and really paying attention to her little cues and messages about what she needs. So far, she’s very calm and relaxed.

She’s a beautiful, sweet, sweet baby and the minute they placed her on my chest, I fell in love hard. She’s so teeny and perfect and my heart feels like it’s outside my chest half the time.

Our Baby Girl is Here!

Friends, I couldn’t wait to share our good news with you!  Our baby girl came early, on February 18th and we got to bring her home on Saturday, which happened to be my birthday!  This is seriously the best birthday present ever! 

6 pounds, 10 ounces   

She is doing so well and is healthy and thriving and very peaceful so far!  Big brother is also smitten and I have to thank our friends and family, who are going above and beyond to be helpful right now, bringing meals and showering us with love.  It’s such a sweet,

Organized Spices

Yep, like I said yesterday, nesting is in full gear over here and after I organized our spice drawer, many other drawers were begging for a little refreshing too.  I’m not sure anyone in my household really appreciates our newly tidied spice drawer, but y’all are my people, so I bet you will!  Things like this get us giddy and no one else has to understand, right?! Thank God for each other- this is what caused me to start blogging in the first place when I was a new SAHM and needed women like you to relate with!

This mini project was inspired spur of the moment while I was preparing a crock pot meal and having to add many spices that were past their prime or I was having to reach into both the drawer you see here and the cabinet above to find what we needed.

How nice to have a 3-day weekend!  Our son was off of school yesterday, so we continued the weekend with an actually very productive day of meal planning, grocery shopping, slow cooker meal making, creating DIY lightsabers for James’ upcoming 6th Star Wars birthday party, organizing my spice drawer of all things, T-ball practice, and of course, more organizing on the nesting homefront now that baby girl has less than a month until she makes her debut!  I think God prepares us perfectly because, although I admit to my fair share of nervous feelings about this second baby, at 37 weeks now,

As I write this post, I’m 36 weeks pregnant (yay! #homestretch!) with our second child and my 41st birthday is fast approaching!  Even though I’m an older mama this time, I feel so much better than last time because I’ve kept up with my workouts and healthy eating (for the most part). Good morning! Are you Super Bowl weary today?!  My son and I have been under the weather lately, so we just took it easy.  I even missed Beyonce- #gasp!  Was it good?? I hope we’re better soon – no time to be sick when a baby is on the way!  I’ve got nesting fever and am wanting to finish up the nursery bathroom and get her closet organized, plus pack our hospital bag essentials.  I even had a dream last night that we ended up at the hospital with nothing.  It wasn’t terrible, but I’d rather be prepared.

Well happy already February 1st to you!  Isn’t it crazy how fast January flew by?!  At 35 weeks pregnant now, I have a feeling February might seem to slow waaaay down over here and feel like it’s dragging on and on!  I can’t believe how quickly I went from “feeling great” to “so ready to be done!” But, gotta just take this last part one day at a time.  I’ve officially entered “nesting” mode and can’t wait to show you the progress on our nursery bathroom and also the nursery closet that I’m working on getting organized.
