Wardrobe Wednesday | White Jeans Day & Night

Happy happy day friends!  My Grandma is visiting from California and we are beyond thrilled to have her here.  We are super close and she is one special lady.  At 88, she’s still running circles around most people and uses the internet (love that she reads my blog everyday!) and even Facebook.  She’s the kind of person who never stops learning, challenges herself, has friends all over the world she helps, and has taught me most that we have to accept situations we cannot change.  So thankful for this woman in my life.
And speaking of thankful, I so appreciate your supportive comments on my bikini contest prep post.  Some of you like Caroline and Ann didn’t realize I had a second blog (my fault for not promoting it more), and other people like Nicole, House Bound In Marin, Lisa B, and Katie said they loved following that blog and my posts about my first bikini contest.  But overall, everyone commented that they’d like me to combine the Honey We’re Healthy & Honey We’re Home blogs into one place here and/or get health/fitness/recipe content here on Honey We’re Home.
That’s really good for me to know because the main reason I started a second blog was so that people who weren’t interested in that content wouldn’t be turned off by me posting it here.  But what I realize now by reading your comments, is that that most of us want to be healthy and to look and feel good so reading about that here would be a welcome change.  I’m looking into adding a ‘Fitness’ tab at the top of Honey We’re Home so you can easily access those posts when you visit here and I will be doing weekly bikini contest prep updates also.  Hope you enjoy them and they are helpful to you, even if you’re not training for a contest! (But if you are, please let me know in the comments so we can encourage each other!)
white jeans day & night

Ever since I bought my new favorite white jeans, I’ve been wearing them non-stop and they’ve become a go-to piece in my wardrobe.  I’m dubbing them a “HWH Everyday Favorite” item and will share more of those with you throughout the post.  They are originally pricey ($164), but were just on sale for $114. The only drawback (which is also the plus) is that they’re white, so I try to be careful not to spill on them while I’m eating or drinking since I do a lot of eating and drinking in the car and am always making a mess.
What makes this pair so special is the thicker fabric and cut.  I tried on so many pair of white jeans and most of them were too thin and too much like jeggings/leggings and made my legs look bumpy and terrible.  The material on these AG Prima Cigarette Jeans is thicker and more like a jean (still with some stretch- 98% cotton, 2% elastane).  Also, they are a mid-rise, so your waistband isn’t in your crotch!  At 5’1 and 107 pounds, I got the size 25 and then had the length taken up and nipped in the waist just a tad.
I’ll share some less expensive white jean options at the bottom of the post, but I wanted to show you today how I wear white jeans day and night, just by dressing them up with a heel and some fancier jewelry (for night) or pair them with wedges or flats and more casual tops (for day).

day
I first showed you this white jean/leafy tank top combo when I packed it for my girls’ weekend trip.  I loved the ladder back on the top, but when I added the coral beaded Stella & Dot necklace, it really brought the outfit together.  That necklace isn’t available anymore, but I found another cute necklace option in the junior department at Nordstrom. Great price too at $24!
I can wear these jeans cuffed or uncuffed and think the rolled cuff makes them look more cute and casual, but for an elongated leg, leave them uncuffed. I wish I could still find these Splendid wedges. I got them last year at Marshall’s, but these Charles David wedges are a good similar option.  I’m wearing them in orange later in the post.
How cute is the back of this top?!  Of course wear your hair up to show it off!

day
Another way to wear white jeans for day is with a button-down shirt and low sandals.  The Vince Camuto sandals were my first HWH Everyday Favorite.  They have 270 reviews and 5 stars, not surprising because they are the most comfortable sandal.  They’re still 33% off too.

My gingham shirt is 40% off, but only available in baby blue now.  This outfit I wore to my son’s school since it’s more covered up, but if you work in a casual office that lets you wear jeans, this would be good there too.  More button shirt options here and here (88 reviews/4 stars on this 3/4 sleeve).

My bracelets were a birthday gift from my friend Maggie, but I couldn’t find them on the website.  🙁 I love this silver beaded Ralph Lauren bracelet though- and it’s price matched at $24.
My third HWH Everyday Favorite you’ve heard me gush about before is my jean jacket. I absolutely love this, it’s soft and I bring it everywhere with me.  It’s under $60 now (price-matched), but sizes are currently limited.  Check back though because Nordstrom has restocked it in the past.  I’m wearing XS and I’ve washed and dried it and it still fits great.
The white jeans I’m wearing in this picture are super old from Express, but they are this cropped skinny leg version.  They are $80, but often go on sale or you can use a discount code.  I put those on my site on Friday in my Weekend Steals & Deals posts.

day
Y’all know I’m crazy for a cross-body bag, especially in the Spring and Summer when you don’t want to be weighed down by a big bag.  I found this one at Target and the bright yellow mixes well with this aqua top and orange necklace (similar).  A fun ring also dresses up your casual look.

day
I previously also searched for a great slubby tee and fell in love with the cut and softness (and price- $25) of this Halogen Relaxed Slub Knit Tee that comes in so many colors and patterns and regular and petite.  No wonder it has 257 reviews/4 stars. It runs big so size down.  And it also washes well- just gets softer.  It’s another HWH Everyday Favorite. 😉
And these are the playful orange wedges I mentioned earlier. I’ve been a big fan of Charles David shoes for a long time- especially the wedges.  Comfy and cute! How about this pale blue polish too?! I keep getting this color on my toes and I haven’t tired of it yet!

night
So let’s talk white jeans at night.  Like I mentioned earlier, an easy way to wear white denim in the evening is to pair it with a heel and fancier jewelry.  I also like a monochromatic look, so for this first night look, I wore an embellished white tank (similar), layered statement necklace, and fun heels.  I might wear this out with the girls for drinks.  It’s a great summer look.

night
For a date night look, you can’t go wrong with black and white.  This doubled-layer v-neck tank can be worn day or night, but with a strappy black heel, it’s more night.  The tank is super soft and a bit lower cut, better for nighttime.

Adding a statement bracelet (this one is from Henri Bendel a couple years ago) other options here and here, and a statement ring (similar) dresses up your white jeans too.

I found these other white jean options, have you tried any of them?
Michael Kors White Shinny Jeans (price matched) $79.50, $59.63 (21 reviews/4 stars)
Ladies, I tried these on and they were so skintight.  Maybe I needed to try bigger sizes, but I was in a hurry so I didn’t get to.  They’ve gotten great reviews so I’m curious if you have them.  Let me know.
Madewell ‘Alley’ Destructed Slim Straight Leg Jeans – I wonder if these would fit better than the Topshop I tried on.
You can’t beat the prices on Old Navy white jeans!  What do you think of those?
Old Navy Women’s Mid-Rise Rockstar Skinny Jeans (regular, long, short) on sale $30
Old Navy Women’s Boyfriend Skinny Ankle Jeans (regular, long, short) on sale $30

Do you have a favorite pair of white jeans?? Please share in the comments because as hard as it is to find a good pair of regular jeans you love, white jeans can be even harder!!

  1. I love the idea of adding a 'fitness' tab and your white jeans post could not have been timed any better; mine just met an unfortunate demise from a run-in with some new super dark jeans… hmph!

  2. I bought my pair from banana republic and I am in love! I wear them at least once a week now but last week I wore them three times, I think I may have an obsession. Definitely my go to item now.

    1. I didn't check out BR, but last time I was in the mall, I passed by and saw some super cute styles in the store. I shouldn't stopped in.

  3. You look great! I especially love the teal tee and orange wedge combo! I just picked up the ON Rockstar (low rise), and really like them. I do size up one in white jeans so they don't show every bump and ripple. Ain't nobody wants to see that! 😉 xo

  4. Love white jeans! I don't have any skinny ones though – I definitely need to invest in a pair. Do you think your jeans would look better rolled up one more time? Or with a wider cuffed roll? I feel like maybe they would look more like they're "supposed" to be that way instead of because you're a shorty like me. 🙂 Just a thought!

  5. I bought a pair of white Madewell Alley slim straight jeans and I really like them. Mine are not destructed, which I prefer. I ordered mine directly from Madewell, as Nordstrom was only carrying the destructed version. Anyway ~ I really like them. I'm 5'8" and 135 and I ordered the 29 which fit well but is a little big in the waist so I may have it taken in a little. They are plenty long enough for me, but look cute rolled up too. BTW, I also just got the AG The Prima in white from Nordstrom's (no longer on price match 🙁 and found them to be very tight in the legs, but that just may be me.

    1. I usually get them done at my salon- but thank you! I'm so digging that light blue color right now! I get them done about every 2 weeks in the summer to keep the toes looking nice in flip flops and sandals.

  6. Can you believe I don't have one pair of white jeans? I have never found a pair that I loved. I will try some of your recommendations. You look so cute in all of those outfits and I love the orange wedges. Those are fun! Enjoy your visit with Grandma! She sounds like an amazing woman. Does she fly by herself?

  7. Been reading your blog for about four months or so….. Love it!!! We are so similar – 5'2 , 106 lbs, Mommy of two, love fashion, fitness and in our mid-thirties! I know we'd be friends if we lived closer! Ha ha!
Just wanted to say how awesome I think your blog is and I love your style/trend tips! I look forward to reading it at the gym every morning ! 😉
I would love to hear more about your journey through the prep of the bikini contest. Especially the meal planning and recipes (I hate cooking!) Don't know if I could ever take that leap and put myself out there but would love to know what the process involves if I ever decide to do it! Good luck to you in these next 11 weeks! 🙂

    1. Hi Rachael! Oh for sure we are twins!! But, I just turned 40 this year! 🙂 I'll take that as a compliment. 😉 I will be doing weekly bikini updates – next one coming up on Monday (May 4). I hope they help. Once you get the grocery shopping and meal prep down, it's much easier!
