Blogger Spotlight // Kristi Murphy

Through one of my favorite pastimes, Pinterest, I stumbled upon Kristi Murphy’s blog over the weekend.  Kristi is a lifestyle expert featuring brilliant and creative DIY projects that are completely doable and inexpensive.  Her designs have been featured on Lauren Conrad’s blog, Shutterfly, and Brit + Co. to name a few.  I’m happy to continue to spread the word as women who do excellent creative work inspire me to get out of my comfort zone and keep exploring my own creative pursuits.  Most of my energy lately has gone into getting in shape and preparing for a fitness competition, but now that it’s almost over, I’m looking forward to getting back to homey-things.  After spending time at Kristi Murphy, I’m getting all excited for future home projects and have some new ideas brewing. . .
Below are just a few of my favorite projects from her site.  You can check out Kristi’s DIY Gallery HERE for many more gorgeous posts.  I think you’ll agree that her photography is stunning too.
This is the pin that brought me to Kristi’s blog.  A DIY taxidermy coat hanger.  I’ll take that scarf too please!

How about this cool acrylic TV tray she modeled after the pricey CB2 version.  The store version cost $149 and hers was $60, but with thinner acrylic, it could be made for $30!
She turned a beach chair into a chic leather sling back chair.  She bought a leather couch at Goodwill for $25 for the leather fabric! Genius!
Considering my love of stripes and gold, these DIY candles are right up my alley!  The project may be super simple (to me the easier the better!) but her styling and photography put it over the edge.
What do you think?  Are you as impressed as I am?!  Hope you stop by and visit Kristi Murphy. 🙂

  1. Girlfriend has a typo in her bio: "gitty" is not a word. Also, I detest the phrase "lifestyle expert." Otherwise, cute stuff!!

    1. Thank you for catching that typo … and I hear ya on the phrase "lifestyle expert!" I wrote that a little while ago and have been working on editing my about page ;-). It's so great to hear your feedback!
