Hope you are relaxed from a great weekend! I spend the better part of mine getting James’ book nook ready and photographing it for the Pottery Barn Kids & PBS Kids challenge that goes…
It’s true, I like Pinterest. A lot. I wrote and published a post about it, but Blogger ate it and now I can’t find it. But, back to how much…
We got a new rug for the entry way and I’m kind of in love with it. It’s the Moroccan-style Beni Ourian rug from Pottery Barn, in a super plush,…
It’s been a busy, emotional week with our son starting kindergarten on Wednesday. Already?!?! Already that school has started and already that he’s in kindergarten! I would’ve loved to have…

Hi! I’m Megan, mom to a thoughtful teenager and spunky young girl. We call Houston home and recently moved into our dream home. I traded my lawyer hat to become a full-time blogger in 2010. I love sharing my passion for affordable fashion, home decor, organization, & fitness to help inspire you to take care of you!

Nice to know! I ditch my foundation and lipstick after the right time, but I'm sure I still have eyeliner from High School!

Great post! I worked in Beauty for a couple of the top beauty companies and even though the above timeline is correct, I really would recommend tossing products earlier. If you still have a blush after 2 years you are probably not using it, so toss it and make room for a new one!
Thanks for the chart. I wonder how many people really try and follow the toss out guidelines? I try to because it gives me an excuse to go shopping! 🙂
Hi Megan! I wasn't sure if you were going to get a notification from the IHeartOrganizing blog comments, but I wanted to share with you here also that your makeup post inspired me to spiff up my own makeup storage drawers with Washi tape. Here's the result – http://www.the-organizing-boutique.com/makeup-storage-drawers.html. Thank you for the inspiration and have a great week!
