Getting Back to Blogging

The last few weeks have been super busy around here- not so much on the blog, but behind the scenes.  I was so happy to have my Grandma in town for a week at Easter, so in preparation for her visit and while she was here, I wasn’t working on any home projects besides cleaning and organizing.

Last weekend, I went to Dallas for a blog conference and got to visit with my friends Cassie, Carlee, NatalieCaycee, Desiree, and Chassity and meet new friends too; Erika, Shanna, Ashley, Desiree, Hallie, Jennifer, Jocelyn & Martha, and Shannon to name a few.  You can check out my Instagram for some photos of the weekend.

It was really a great time and I’ll be doing a fashion recap soon with plans to integrate more fashion posts now that Spring has my attention on style and wardrobe changes.

Saturday night we had my son’s school Gala fundraiser with a 1920’s theme.  It was our first one and reminded me so much of prom for grown-ups.  ðŸ˜‰

I thought our Gala class art project came out super cute.  My girlfriend and I (the one in the silver dress) are room moms, so we were in charge of creating an auction item for people to bid on at the fundraiser.  We created a collage of the kids’ hands in a heart shape using a poster board and construction paper as the backdrop (letting the kids choose their color) and PicMonkey to create the collage. The photo was printed at Costco in 11×14 (for about $2) and framed with a small plaque that read “The Heart of (Our School) 2014”.  Last time I checked, the high bid was $165!  (My son’s hands are bottom right).
Back at home, I have so many post ideas I’m ready to create and publish, I just need to make time to do it.  Working out so much in preparation for my bikini contest has kind of been kicking my @ss.    But, I feel like I’m in a rhythm now, so I’m ready to get back to my home blog!
