Workout Shoes & Self Tanner

Two things last week have given my workouts a little boost- new shoes and self-tanner. 😉  I’m a big fan of ASICS running shoes and asked for a new pair for my birthday.  Love this pop of orange and pink!   Good energy for working out! I got mine at Sports Authority on sale for $99 (Gel Evate) hot pink/white/sunshine.

but these below are similar at Nordstrom for the same price.
A good pair of shoes is an investment that serves you well.
On another note, I like being tan, but understand that tanning beds aren’t good for you so I’m staying out.  I will be at the pool this summer, but until then I’m using self-tanner.  My girlfriend told me she buys Sephora Tinted Self Tanning Body Mist by the case and swears by it, so I picked up a bottle.   (Thanks Angela!)
After using it twice, I’m a convert.  This is the first spray tanner I’ve used and it’s so much easier than rubbing in a lotion!  I just showered and dried off really well, then stepped back into the shower to spray the tanner on.  There is a light scent, but it doesn’t smell bad like some tanners.  I will definitely keep using this one.
Do you feel better tanned too?  What self tanner do you like?

  1. Megan – love the new tennies! Bright, new tennis shoes always make a workout a little more fun 😉
And I love a good self tan. I swap out with self-tanner products for the body. Spray tanners, like the one you referenced above, are my favorite, especially "airbrush" ones that you don't have to rub in. The best I've found is Neutrogena MicroMist AirbrushSunless Tan. I've used many different kinds and find it has the finest mist, and doesn't require rubbing in at all if you spray far enough away and evenly. For daily tan upkeep, I use Nivea Sun-Kissed Radiant Skin Gradual Tanner and Body Lotion. It smells divine, with minimal "tanner" smell. Plus it's really moisturizing and soaks in well.

For my face, I swear by Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads. They are AMAZING. Seriously, once you try them you will be addicted. They're a little pricey, but totally worth it. I get them at Sephora. A quick swipe several times a week is all it takes for a nice healthy glow. Plus they have Vitamin D for anti-aging. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin and they've never broken me out.

    1. Hi – so glad I just read your comment about the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pad. I'm a big fan of self tanning, but I have yet to find a product that doesn't make my face break out. I'll have to try these!

  2. I definitely feel better with a tan. I am actually planning to get spray tanned next month before my baby shower…winter white and big prego don't look so good together 😉 The next weekend we will be in Folly Beach, so if I am even going to wear a tankini, I NEED some color to not feel as bad as I do. I can't wait to not be pregnant!

  3. Amen sister. I just started using Toma's Airbrush Spray Tan from Sally's on my face and chest. It is amazing! And I have used St. Tropez foam on my body for about a year now. I get compliments all the time on how natural it looks!

  4. Ah, self tanner. Its a love-hate relationship! Last summer I discovered the St Tropez foam with applicator mitt, and its the best tanner I've used so far! It dries really quickly, has a very natural color, and the mitt ensures a fantastic and even application. I'm sold. Still looking for a great tanner for the face though!
