Decorating our home for Christmas is one of my favorite things to do. I look forward to it each year and it’s fun because you can do different things in each room, trying out color combinations and using old things in new or unexpected ways. I’m careful each year to put everything away in a neat, organized way so that when I pull out those giant green and red bins, it’s like Christmas morning just going through all the things we’ve collected over the years. Enough talking, come on in!
In our foyer, two large nutcrackers greet you and a red jingle bell wreath is hanging on a mirror with a command hook. I originally planned to put the nutcrackers at the bottom of our staircase, but a young boy kept playing with them, so I had to put them higher up!

DINING ROOM
Our dining room is the first room I decorated and my favorite this year. I went with aqua, mint, white and metallics. Those colors mix beautifully and go well with our drapes. You can read all about it and find the source list HERE.
CHRISTMAS TREE
As you enter the living room, you’ll see our 9 foot faux tree that sits in the curve of the staircase. I called pink and red for the decor and used a combination of pink ribbon and red wooden stringed berries to wrap the tree. You can see more trees and link up yours HERE.
LIVING ROOM
The red continues into the living room where just a few simple decorations were added, like red pillows and a red tray on the coffee table. It looks so much better in here now that I’ve organized all the toys!
Since our tree is fake, I love to light this inexpensive green Glade candle because it smells just like a real tree, but isn’t too overpowering. Smells like Christmas!
Ornaments fill bowls in the media cabinet, along with a few other fun things.
KITCHEN
I don’t normally put too much effort into the kitchen decor, but this year I wanted to spread the cheer around with more touches of red. Since we have a white kitchen, the red really stands out. You can read the full post HERE.
BREAKFAST ROOM
The breakfast room is just off of the kitchen and I adorned the table with a wreath centerpiece. It’s just a large candle placed inside a smallish wreath.
And I haven’t been able to keep out of the dark chocolate Hershey’s kisses. They were intended as part of my son’s Christmas party treats, but . . . The vintage holder was found on Etsy.
HOME OFFICE
My home office is completely “my space” although my son likes to play in there too. I keep it pretty girly and the first thing I look forward to is turning the page in the Inslee desk calendar my sweet friend Stephanie gave me. I adorned it with some washi tape.
I found the decorative initial cup at Target.
This pastel jingle bell wreath is from Home Goods.
I added some mini pink and silver ornaments to a small bowl.

I adore the snowflakes I cut for my son’s room and he does too. See how I did it HERE.
We also found this giant red start that lights up at Ikea.

The master sitting room is a happy place this year decked out with a more natural feel and green decor. See all the details HERE.

Looks amazing! I love all the added details in every room. I completely understand those nutcrackers as this year many of our decorations didn't make it out thanks to a curious 15 month old!
Will be a fun Christmas this year with a 15 month old!
Your home is so festive! I love the nutcrackers and all the red!
Cheers! – Shelley
Thank you!
Wow! So many beautiful Christmas touches sprinkled throughout your home. Your kitchen cabinets make my heart stop every. single. time. Great colors and of course, lovin' the small splashes of gold. And let's talk about that tree! SO pretty.
Merry Christmas!
Thanks Jen! I got the idea to decorate the cabinets after we went to NY!

It's beautiful Megan!! I love how you used the different colors, especially the mint! I have my eye on some decorations for next Christmas now!!
The mint is a nice change- thanks for that Target pillow that got me started. 🙂
I absolutely love those red and white candles in your kitchen cabinet. So adorable. My three year old won't leave our tree alone this year and I've caught him under the Star Wars handling the presents under there. He's getting very excited.
Thank you Rebecca- I didn't have any tall candle stick holders- ha! My 3 year old is Star Wars obsessed right now!
Mine used to be, but he has gotten more into The Avengers. His nursery was decked out in Star Wars. It was the first nursery I ever got to really decorate. Now it's time to redo their room in super heros. They grow up way too fast.
Beautiful decorating! So lovely…
Wow you really go all out! I love it!

I spread it around this year. It's nice to have that holiday flair in different spaces.
All so pretty, Megan. I wish I could tour it in person. I just love the gold and green in your master retreat.
I love that each area of your house has different colored decorations, but all feel so festive! We also have several Christmas color schemes at our house this year – with aqua and red in the living room, orange, white and silver in the basement, and traditional red and green in the office.
Oh, it's all so pretty! I love it! Our decor is a lot simpler…. but it still feels Christmassy. There is so much deep cleaning that has to happen before I get everything up….
I love what you have done! Our house is on the market, so we haven't decorated as much a usual! I am not a decorator, but love soing things to make our house a home! I love you sofa and your cream chairs! WHere did they come from?
Ellie
Looks just perfect! I love all the little touches throughout the whole house. Super festive!
Hi where is your mirror from on top of world market console frameless mirror
Wow! Thank you for sharing – I love the way you distributed color patterns, like the greens in the sitting room. And the wrapping paper with the gifts, beautiful!!
Beautiful home!
In Sweden we have those stars (the one from IKEA) in the windows. They look beautiful from outside as from inside.
Everything looks beautiful Megan!
Love the way you decorated everything in your house for Christmas! It's beautiful! 🙂
