Coffee Table Switch

I recently played musical coffee tables and moved the mirrored table from the living room and put this tufted ottoman in its place.  It’s a good fit!

I added a mirrored tray on top to break up all the beige-  and I like the pop of shine.  The tray is functional too, holding our too many remotes.  I’m lucky that my son doesn’t mess with the tray- he’s too busy playing Star Wars.

I spray painted the ginger jar with my favorite glossy black spray paint (it was previously white) and filled it with three faux cream-colored hydrangeas.  I just cut the stems so they would fit in the jar.  It finally occurred to me one day to cut them so I could put them in a shorter vase- before I was always thinking they needed to be in a tall vase to accommodate the long stems- duh! And while I prefer real flowers, I’m okay with a few faux ones here and there occasionally.
The space underneath the coffee table is perfect for storing magazines.  I like to keep a few in the living room for reading on the couch and this shallow basket is my favorite for magazines because it allows you to see many at once and they stay nice and flat.

Love the coffee table! It's really similar to the ottoman we use as a coffee table. We l-o-v-e Overstock 🙂

Love the new coffee table! I have that mirrored tray as well and love it. And yes, sometimes faux flowers are a bit easier.

Is that tray a recent Target purchase?!?!? I'm hoping you say yes so I can run over to Target and pick one up! I'm thinking of having a similar coffee table and I love how you styled yours.

Hi Heidi! I've had the tray for a long time- but I think they might still carry it. If not, I'd try Z Gallerie- they have a lot of mirrored stuff. Good luck!

Ohh I saw that table on Overstock too! I LOVE it. It looks great in there!! We just ordered one from Pottery Barn, and I was debating if I wanted something more like yours. I just purchased two tufted arm chairs that are on their way from Overstock, so I decided a reclaimed wood coffee table might help balance out the room. I'm sure my husband will appreciate it, although I would have everything upholstered and tufted! hah

I was on the Lamps Plus FB page yesterday and saw you there and cast my vote 🙂 Love the new table and the mirrored tray is a perfect addition – did just what you said, breaks up the beige and adds a great glam counterpoint to the table.

I loooooove that coffee table!!! Seriously, it's going on my wish list. So chic, so stylish and so perfect for a certain 14 month old I happen to know who wouldn't bump his head or bang too many things on that soft top! : ) It looks so pretty in your living room, I love your house!

      That's what I'm thinking!!!

Michelle, the top is great and soft, but not the legs. If someone fell onto them they'd probably get hurt.

I loveeeeee the coffee table. Need it in my life now!

I love it when you can switch a few pieces up in a room and make a huge impact. The coffee table is great. Well done. Erin @ House Envy

Gah! I love this coffee table! We're trying to find one that is more toddler friendly…what do you think of the corners? Would a little toddler head it them?

    • October 16, 2013 / 3:58 pm

To be really safety conscious with toddlers, I wouldn't go with this table because the legs are so hard and have 90 degree angles.

I recently had those hydrengas in a mason jar (ie-clear) on the table and my guests totally thought they were real. I was like "but there's no water.." they totally didn't notice! they look great!
