Ultimate Workout Playlist (60 Songs)

I’m a huge proponent of using music in your workouts to help get you going.  Even on my most low energy, depressed days, when I’m literally dragging myself to the gym or park with a head full of self-talk like, “Just WALK for 15 minutes- you don’t have to run or lift weights.” If, when I get there, I put my ipod on, after a few minutes, I can’t help but start running or working out harder.  Like music magic.

Lyrics, tempo, beat, and rhythm get me in the mood to work out.  I like booty-shakin’ music, R&B, Christian Pop, and a little rock-n-roll.  Below are the top 60 songs currently on my “Work Out” Playlist.

To get me moving or start the workout I love to hear Good Morning” by Mandisa & Toby Mac.

When it’s time to lift heavy weights on squats, Sober” by Pink is great because it’s a little slower (which is how I like to do squats, and I feel like it makes me dig deep).

    Thank you so much for sharing this list!!!

    I find music really helps me move as well and like you I also like booty shaking music. To be honest, I've been slacking a little lately and am thinking I will download the songs on this list that I don't have and create a workout list to move to.

    Thank you for the motivation, from both me and my favorite jogging partner (my dog).

    I have become a Pandora addict when working out. I have several different stations that I alter between to keep me motivated. My current favorite is the workout power hits. Its a fun mix of old school and new songs.

    Great list! One of my favorites, ESPECIALLY on cardio days is Eminem's 'Till I Collapse. The lyrics keep me going when I want to stop. 😛 "'Cause sometimes you just feel tired, Feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength And just pull that sh*t out of you and get that motivation to not give up And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse."

    Other than the Adele songs on your list, u have the same songs/albums as me (I have a lot of fall out boy tho -my fav when running). Great playlist!

    Love this list Megan! I love to end a really tough workout with stretching to Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangster but he Geto Boys 😉 And I'm really loving Katy Perry's new song Roar for running to

    Great list! My favorite workout song is "All I Do Is Win" DJ Khaled. I always feel like a bad a$$ when it comes on my iPod.

    Thanks for a list of great ideas! My current favorites are "Love Me Again" by John Newman and "Wake Me Up" by Avicii. I found your blog a few months ago and thanks to your recommendation, I'm halfway through Jamie Eason's program. I've always worked out and been at a healthy weight but now everything feels so "tight" and toned! Thanks for all the info:)
