She had me at the big gold perfectly-spaced polka dots on the wall. But then she went and made over an Ikea desk for about $50 and I nearly fainted. Check out this perfection.
My friends, if you haven’t been to Just Bella blog, you really need to pay a visit. Christine is mama to this precious thing, which, in and of itself, is worth the trip. One thing I really appreciate about Christine’s design sense is her simplicity and ability to beautifully edit a space.

While shopping Overstock for a lounge chair and chaise for our master sitting room, I realized just how much of the decor in our house is from accessible places like Overstock, Homegoods, and Target. I like style and quality and a bargain all at the same time.
Recently, I found a unique round mirrored tray that looks very similar to a high-end version I have drooled over since I first saw it, the Arteriors Cinchwaist Gold Iron/Mirror Tray, that literally retails for $396.
I like my $12.99 version just fine. And it’s kind of thrilling to happen upon such a great bargain.

After I published my post yesterday, I couldn’t believe I forgot to add the funniest thing about my wonderful and loving Grandma — She is crazy for those 50 Shades of Gray books! She’s been on me to read them for months, but I still haven’t gotten around to it. I know lots of people are fans- I just didn’t know my Grandma was one of them!
I’ve been busy doing other things, like going crazy buying washi tape and starting a blog calendar. These are the things that make my inner 12-year-old girl all giddy.

My crush on Mr. Kors is pretty obvious and his summery collection of tan leather heels and wedges are perfection- he really nailed the color. I’ve been looking for a two-tone watch for awhile now and this one is simple and pretty. May have to indulge- after Father’s Day, of course. Hope all the Dads have a great Father’s Day this weekend!

Summer is in full swing here. Hot days, flip flops, pool time, and quick dinners cooked outside on the grill. This meal is one of my favorite summertime suppers and is so easy to pull together. Fresh corn is begging to come home with me from the grocery store and I can’t get enough of it. Tomato and avocado salad is a year-round favorite, and so colorful with this dish. And finally, a marinated skinless, boneless chicken breast is grilled to juicy perfection.
Marinade (Finger Lickin’ Chicken Marinade from Food.com)
-for 4-6 chicken breasts
1 cup oil
1/2 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons Miracle Whip Light
3 tablespoons Worcestershire
2 tablespoons lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons thyme
1 tablespoon garlic salt
Mix all the ingredients together and marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight in the refrigerator.

Last week, I finally tackled a simple project that had been nagging at me for months. Â We switched our towel hooks for towel bars so that the towels could dry better between uses and stay fresher longer. Â I like the look of towels hanging from hooks, but it seems that they go “sour” or mildewy because they don’t air dry as well if they aren’t laying flat.
I chose an inexpensive, modern looking towel bar from Target.
I like how they include a template so that you are sure to hang the bar straight. Â Taping the paper template up with wash tape makes sure no damage is done to your cabinet/wall when the tape comes off.

I’ve wanted to add a gallery wall to our home for a long time, but have gotten totally intimidated and overwhelmed because they seem like a lot of work and I don’t feel like I really know how to put them together. When we changed up my son’s nursery and put the bed where the changing table used to be, I had a huge blank wall that I knew would be perfect for a gallery wall. The transition from nursery to “big boy” room continues and our bed arrived last week. Â It’s the Pottery Barn Hampton Classic from Pottery Barn Teen, on sale for $399 plus delivery. Â Our deliverymen assembled the twin bed in about 20 minutes and said it’s one of the most popular beds they deliver. Â To make the room feel truly different from the nursery, we switched up the furniture placement too.
Side rails were added to the bed since our little guy is a super squirmy sleeper. Â These are from Overstock and $32.99 each. Â So far they are working perfectly,
