A Favorite (Smaller) Living Room

I can’t get this living room out of my mind.  It’s a beautiful mix of masculine and feminine, a neutral color palette with great texture and personality.  The gallery wall is interesting and, if you can pull off a white sofa, go for it!  I’ve got a little toddler eating and getting grubby on the couch so it’s probably not happening here- although I have a friend who loves her white slipcovered sofas even with her own two little kids.

I’m also crazy over the black-rimmed windows devoid of drapes- such great light.  And that convex mirror!  The tiniest hint of blush pink in the pillow, vase and book adds a girlie touch too.
This living room was designed and styled by Crystal Gentilello.  You can go here to see more of her work.
I felt this room showcases how stylishly you can live in a smaller space.  It seems that the ceilings are rather tall, which definitely opens up the room.
So tell me, are you living large or rockin’ a smaller space?

  1. I love the mix of golds and wood in the living rooms you posted 🙂
    I love smaller spaces!
My dad lives in a 5,000 square foot house and my grandparents live in their basement apartment which is only around 700 square feet. When the whole family gets together we all gather in the smaller space 🙂

  2. Well… we were living large but we will soon be living in a smaller space. Just sold our house and bought a new one a couple days ago. We are going from a home with a living room, afamily room, a rec room and large playroom and a smaller one to a home with one Great room and a smaller rec room in the basement. I'll let you know how it works out. I'm nervous for sure especially with 3 kids.

  3. What a gorgeous room! Sometimes I dream of downsizing to an ikea-sized apartment. So cozy…and easy to maintain! 🙂

  4. I can see why you love this room! I also love that convex mirror and that coffee table!! Oh and yes, the black rimmed windows – they always add so much impact. Too bad I don't have windows like that.

  5. I love the neutral palettes. I want to do something similar in my living room. Our living room space is on the smaller side. I really don't mind since we spend most of our time in the family room. Thanks for the great ideas

  6. I just love this spaace. My favorite part is the fireplace. We live in a apartment right now so definitely a smaller space. I wish I could have a white couch but with my fiancé working construction and a two year old boy who gets into everything that couch would not even make it a week.
