Did you watch the game last night?! We hosted an annual Super Bowl party and had a fun, full house. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, perfect for getting some friends together and hanging out in the backyard. I knew we’d have a bunch of kiddos, so we rented a bounce house for the afternoon. The kids (and some adults) loved it and bounced ’til dark.
For food, we served a slow cooked brisket and red beans. The brisket was huge, about 8 pounds, so I was surprised there wasn’t any left at the end of the party.
We also made cream cheese stuffed jalepenos with bacon (I tried to make them a little healthier with low fat cream cheese and lower sodium bacon). You just pop them in a 375 degree oven for about 20 minutes. I made three batches and they all disappeared.
Mexican 7-layer dip (refried beans, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, shredded cheese, olives, and green onions) and caprese skewers are a party staple.
Our sweet friends brought spinach dip (that I didn’t get a pic of but was absolutely delicious!), and the cutest, tastiest cupcakes and cookies.
The kids REALLY had a good time playing together.
And the adults did too! I admit I didn’t catch any of the game- or the commercials . . . just the half-time show.
What did y’all think?
P.S. My friend Emily (Decor Chick) is hosting a sale on Joss & Main today. I know she’d love it if you want to check it out!
You need to be a member to shop the site, but it’s FREE to join, you just need an invite, which I’ve included for you HERE.
Good morning friends and happy Wednesday! How’s your week going? It’s been a good one here and today is shaping up to be a packed one. After I drop off…
I recently decided to stop with the acrylic nails and have gone back to au natural. Since I had James nearly two years ago, I’ve been wearing fake nails. At…
Hi friends! Well that was a weird Monday Tuesday, right?! I feel all discombobulated now! You too? It must be Wednesday because that’s when I share the best sales with…
It took awhile, but Fall has finally found it’s way to Houston and into the HWH household! Well, the front porch at least! I’m one of those people that loves to…
How’s your week going friends? I’m just over here counting down the days ’til the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like a kid at Christmas! It’s so close, opening this Thursday for cardholders. ??I got a friendly letter in the mail letting me know they upped my limit just in time for the sale- #thankyouverymuch! We’ll keep this little detail to ourselves and not bother the hubby with that tidbit of info! 😉 Are you excited?!?! Of course, I’ll be sharing my picks on Thursday and then a big ‘ole dressing room round up on Friday with fit tips and recommendations. Let me know what you have questions about and I’ll do my best investigative journalism for ya!
This swingy striped! cold shoulder dress is perfect for daytime or evenings out. Love the simplicity of it and the drapey fabric. Such a steal at right under $50! For a daytime look, you could wear it with the #10 sandals (they have lots of colors) & for evening, these black open toe heeled sandals would be great.
Show off your summer mani with this gorgeous, chic statement ring! I like to wear it on my first or middle finger on my right hand with a bold bracelet.
I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this maxi dress before. Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and it’s really flattering and comfortable. It’s on sale under $40! I wear XS.
High waist leggings will be your BFF, I swear! They keep you all nice and tucked in and make you feel great while working out. Zella quality is always superb, and this pair comes in three colors with criss-cross detail at the calf. They run TTS, I wear size XS.
Although I normally wear a tank to workout, this Zella tee is my go-to when I want a t-shirt. The seams in the shirt are perfectly placed to help the illusion of a smaller waist and I like the cut of the sleeves that don’t irritate me when I’m working out.
My go-to tank, $11!!! I think I need to stock up on the other colors. It’s perfect for wearing alone or layering under cardigans or other tops. It fits TTS, XS here.
I have the older version of these sandals and they are really good! They come in tons of colors and the “beige leather” has a snakeskin pattern that goes with everything. Sam Edelman makes quality shoes that last, so I highly recommend them!

Great spread and party! We watched in our pjs. I only watched the halftime show too, but was greatly disappointed. My highlight of the evening was when we got to switch over to Downton Abbey!
We had a Super Bowl party last night too and now I'm dealing with the aftermath! I didn't pay much attention to the game either, but I never do. 😉 I love that you rented a bounce house. Great idea!
All the snacks look so delicious and they are definitely healthier than other snacks out there – well done! It looked like you all had an amazing time! 🙂
What a great party. We stayed home, made homemade pizza. I only watched for the commercials, which were a bit lame this year. Loved the M&M commercial however.
Food looked awesome. Here in MD, it was cold with snow flurries so no outside play for the kids. We had jambalaya in the spirit of New Orleans to help keep out the chill. Can't wait to try the caprese skewers for my husband's birthday party this weekend.
That looks like a Super Bowl Party to remember! (Even if you didn't watch the game!) It's all about food, family and friends in my book and you had that covered! The pictures are great! I love the one of you and your adorable son!
Those caprese skewers look easy and delicious! I'm a sucker for a good cheese dish anytime. Hope you enjoyed one wine with it! 😉 love the pic of you and your sweet boy!

Party looks like such a blast and the food looks amazing. And a bouncy house?!…the kids must have gone bananas when they saw that!
