Homemade Low Fat Chocolate Mocha

This time of year, I love to sip on a hot cocoa.  It just turned cold here, so it’s especially toasty to drink one at night.  I make mine with skim milk and Ghiradhelli double chocolate powder.  Their serving size is 4 tablespoons, but I think 2 is plenty.  To make it into a mocha, I add one scoop of espresso powder.  To be decadent, top with a swirl of fat free whip cream.  Even fat free whip cream is delicious.

  1. Looks delicious! I love Ghiradelli chocolates. Question: have you completed the live Fit trainer program? Looking forward to seeing your final results! 🙂

  2. Is this healthy? There is more and more evidence that sugar is toxic and the Ghiradelli brand uses preservatives and trans fats. Your suggestion to use both fat free milk and fat free whipped cream only intensifies the sugar's effect (with no fat to slow its absorption). Low calorie does NOT equal healthy. I enjoy your blog, but would love to see you begin to reduce your suggestion if using processed foods as a means to obtain "health."

    1. It's only lowfat. I consider skim milk healthy. The chocolate powder and whip not so much, but I belive in moderation. How do you suggest making a hot cocoa? I welcome another version.
