School Supplies for Grown Ups
Am I the only one, long beyond my school days, when the words “back to school” still get me in the mood to shop for pens and paper (for myself)?!

This year, our holiday decor is taking place rather s-l-o-w-l-y. I pulled out all of our Christmas bins, but so far, less than half have been unpacked. The bits that…
I’ve recently committed to trying to learn how to use my camera so that I can take better pictures. When I first got the camera (a Nikon D90 that Jimmy…
My 3 year-old son will soon be sleeping in a big boy bed. He’s been quite content in his crib (only crawled out once!) all this time. I took my…

Hi! I’m Megan, mom to a thoughtful teenager and spunky young girl. We call Houston home and recently moved into our dream home. I traded my lawyer hat to become a full-time blogger in 2010. I love sharing my passion for affordable fashion, home decor, organization, & fitness to help inspire you to take care of you!
Yes! I thought I was the only one who got a little giddy when seeing all the new back to school stuffs. I stock up on some neat pens and notepads… for work of course. I guess instead of back to school I can justify it by saying back to work? -Happy Friday!
I am totally the same way! I could spend hours in staples or office max, always visit the stationary/office section in any store, and dream of the days when August meant binders and pencils. Can't wait to go back-to-school shopping with my kids someday. 🙂
PS – those InkJoy pens look great!
School supplies are the best part of back to school! I can't wait to get new binders and have that crisp, clean binder and brand new supplies and pretty pen colors!
I just took my 4 chillins school supply shopping the other day…and couldn't help but pick up a few items for myself!;) I got cool white-out pens, new Bic Pens that come in sweet colors now….and my favorite: a notebook/journal for MY lists and blogging notes!

I have to agree. My son is in college and he gave me a strange look when I said "so what school supplies do you need" with a little too much enthusiasm.I love how back to school always brings a sense of renewal along with some brand new pens and freshly sharpened pencils for my desk.
I bought the Martha Stewart notebook in the blue tones last week. Love it!
I use the same papermate pens you do…now to remember where I bought my last batch??? I am amazed by the lists the school give out nowadays…right down to the brand name of the pencils they want you to use. We had so many leftovers from years past, we really did have to buy much to send Katie off to college with.
Definitely not the only one! I have always loved anything to do with fresh school/supplies…pens, beautiful notepads and stationary….Great post!
Love the notebook! Notebooks are my weakness because I make lists for everything!
I LOVE back to school shopping! When I was teaching August was my favorite time of year, stocking up on all the fun supplies for the kids. But now that I don't have the kids to shop for, I just pick up a few goodies for myself to make my chores and desk more interesting and inviting!
Back to school has always been my most favorite time of year!
This year, I snagged a couple of cute paper pads from the $1 section at Tarjay — a To Do / To Call / To Buy / To Remember pad, in punchy colors — and a weekly menu planner, with a categorized shopping list space. 🙂
Ink Joy are my favorite pens, but I wish they cost a little less!
I need to get the colored ones to use in my planner.
I LOVE the martha stewart office collection! So many cute/fun things!!
I recently just got a lot of cute office supplies in the $1 section at target! Cute post its, pads of paper, mouse pads that you can write on/ make lists, etc. Can't beat $1! 🙂
Oh my gosh — I love that notebook! Where did you shop to find Martha Stewart office supplies?!?!
I am in love with the Inkjoy pens and also recently discovered the Papermate Flair fine tip pens and they are amazing! <3 I think I hoard more school supplies than the kids! 🙂
xoxo,
Jen
I had to run into CVS last night to pick up something and got lost in the back to school isle for 20 minutes. I love back to school goodies. I bought some fun highlighters and post-its in colorful bright colors. I did see your favorite PaperMate pens there Megan. You may want to pop in CVS.
I live those pens too!!! Headed to cvs
*love. Thanks Allison! Xo shel
Perfect! We have a CVS close by, but I never think to check there!
I'm the same way! I've always LOVED new school supplies. Pens, markers, crayons, paper. Oh, I can't wait for kids!
Oh my gosh – YES – I love shopping for school supplies with my kids. I get more excited about it than they do 😉
My name is Carol Ann and I'm addicted to Martha Stewart office supplies. There, I said it.
Ha! Admitting is the first step . . . 🙂
I do LOVE school supplies. I don't know if it's because I was a teacher before becoming a SAHM or what, but they call my name every time I walk past Staples/Target/etc. The Martha Stewart stuff is fun huh? I recently started using the Papermate Flair pens and love them. They are really colorful. I just bought a new Erin Condren planner for 2013–always looking for new "supplies" to keep us organized. Have you heard of May Books? I think you'd like them!
