To capture a bit about what my young son is like as he turns 2, I used Picasa to add text to this photo.
After uploading the photo, you click on “Text”
Then you can chose your font (whatever fonts you have on your computer), move them around, make them bigger or smaller, and choose what color you want to use. Then just hit “Apply” and save the picture.
Update: I no longer use Picasa to edit photos, but I find PicMonkey (free photo editing website) really easy to use and it gives you lots of creative freedom. I do pay $5 a month so I can use all the premium features. See more here:

I LOVE this!! I was wondering how I could do something like this! THANK YOU for the tutorial!! You are awesome!! 🙂
This is really cute and right up my alley. So much easier than a scrapbook.
Hi Megan – I love this idea! Looks like a magazine, and I bet lots of family members would love one too!
Genious idea!! I don't have kids yet, but when I do, I'm keeping this in mind. It will be a great reminder of the things they do, say or are into at different ages. Love it!
What an adorable idea! You are so talented at creative ideas that have a sentimental touch.
How fun! If he loves Dora and Yo Gabba Gabba, he will probably love the Polkadots (they are from New Zealand) and have a really fun Youtube Channel!

What a fun way to remember this age. I want to start doing stuff like this more – it's easy to forget all the little things they like and say at each age.
Wow, this looks like so much fun. What a wonderful idea, I think I need to give it a go. Thanks for sharing Megan.
