What a lovely post!!!! That's exactly how a home should feel…like home! xo
I can really relate to this post. When I moved into my place this summer, I rushed into buying things. I've ended up selling many of the items on craigslist and looking for unique and cozy items that make my place look like a home and not a store. It's hard to not want to finish everything at once, but slowing down has made me realize its my home. The scrabble art is adorable 🙂
What a great post. I love the scrabble art, what a great idea! I have the same feelings about our home too.

your scrabble art is just..amazing! 🙂 I love it! I'm sure james will not only remember your cooking someday…he'll remember how you made your home one hell of a work of art! 🙂
The Scrabble art is really cute. I love what you said about cooking and wanting James to remember those good foods. And you are right, cooking good food is a way of showing love.
When my son was young, he loved my cooking. I didn't cook everything from scratch like I do now, but he loved my cooking so much, he refused to eat anything that they offered went they went on field trips. My son is severely disabled but it was so cute. Everyone knew the rules….he only ate his mother's cooking, lol. He'd turn down ice cream, snacks or anything they do on the field trips. Fast forward to 2006 when he was very sick and they told me he could no longer eat any real foods and everything had to be through a feeding tube. I was so depressed for a very long time. No one to cook for and none of the foods I made were for him. The good news is around Christmas time, I found a way to make real foods for him and process them with a high powered blender it's a lot tougher than it sounds…not quite like making a smoothie for us). Everything must go through a tube the size of a pinhole but he gets real, healthy meals, made from nutritious foods. I did it to build his immune system and he's flourishing. We both love it and it's wonderful to cook again. Food is definitely love.
