Inexpensive Botanical Wall Art
Isn’t it so nice to have a long weekend? The extra time with my hubby and baby around all together at home was so nice. And James has started becoming such a ham (loves to laugh and make you laugh too) that it’s great to be able to share these moments with Jimmy, instead of just soaking them in by myself when I’m alone with James. It’s that glance we give each other like, “How could this baby be so impossibly cute?” and happy!
I love botanical prints and decided to do a grouping of 4 on the wall adjacent to our bed. I found a book of botanical art (The Botanical Palette) for $22 (after my discount card and coupon) at Barnes & Noble and bought 4 frames (16×20 with 8×10 mat) from Aaron Brothers (again with a coupon- never shop there without one!) They even scanned the coupon from my phone:)
To save even more money, you can print botanical art at home from your computer like my friend Courtney {A Thoughtful Place} did. I wasn’t as patient with the website she used and I think my printer is out of colored ink! Also, she found great frames at WalMart. Gotta love that!
For our botanicals, I kept the color palette in the purple family, but there were so many gorgeous photographs to choose from in the book.
I liked them so much, I added two smaller versions to our master bathroom!
Adding art to the walls is really making a difference in how our home looks. I love the fruit botanical art too and was considering adding some to the dining room or mudroom, but thought it might be overkill!
Want to share your sources for art? It’s such a personal preference thing, but I’d love to hear what you think.
Great idea!! I live using paper! Check out my blog, I used paper in my master bedroom re-do! Thanks for sharing girl!!

Once I paint one wall a purple-grey color, I'm going to stencil in botanical flowers… I think it's going to look pretty!
He's so cute!! and I love the new artwork!
These are beeeeee-utiful! I have yet to meet a botanical I didn't like. Well done!

They look great! I love your bedroom wall color as well. I am loving our new botanicals and had to stop myself from putting them all over the house, too!
so pretty! I love the frame choices too. they look great!
I think it looks great! Most of our "art" is made up of family photos…whether they are very, very old heirloom portraits or new shots of the girls. 🙂 I need to incorporate more "real" art into our home. 🙂
oh my gosh your kid is so cute!! and those botanical prints looks great- I have been meaning to do the same in my bedroom for a while now – thanks for sharing the printable link!
Looks great! I just did some of my own art (birds for our dining room). Here's the link with pictures: http://theblogofmj.blogspot.com/2011/04/diy-wall-art.html
I used a website called chartingnature.com. They sell colored prints of birds and botanicals (reproduced from the 1900's) and then I just brought inexpensive matted frames at Target.
Beautiful artwork! And Beautiful son!

Your prints look fabulous! I recently did the same thing in my bedroom. My prints came from a book as well…an OLD book that I found online for like 2 bucks!
Don't you just love inexpensive art?!
The art looks great! In my daughter's bedroom I framed some cute wrapping paper that I bought at Papyrus for $6! I love it and it was super affordable!
So pretty!!! I absolutely love the color on your walls!! What is it called?
those are beautiful and LOVE LOVE your wall color!! I sooo wanted gray in the bedroom but hubby nixed the idea. 🙁 so I painted the LR gray instead! LOL I was gonna get gray in this house one way or another!
Cute picture of James in the tub! He's one happy little man. Love the artowrk. It's very pretty in your bedroom on that lovely wall color. The botanicals have a very calming feel to them.
I love those…looks great, especially in the silver frames with large mattes.
Most of my walls are photos, but that is slowly changing. I, too, frame book pages.
They are super pretty and such a great idea to frame book pages x
I love it! They look great!
Lovely!!! And baby James is just WAY too cute!!!
What lovely prints. They look so pretty on your wall with the framing. Your little boy is so cute, and that smile is just darling. I know the feeling of looking at each other with a smile. I'm so glad you had a wonderful weekend.
I am loving this idea!
Love botanical prints! These are so fun!
Our wall color is Anew Gray by Sherwin Williams:)
Those look great. I really love the botanicals you chose. I have a stack of animal prints I need to frame for Sterling's nursery, might just have to check out Walmart for some frames. That picture of James at the top is adorable love his white straight teeth!
I love the clock in your bathroom! Could you share where you got it, please?
Your botanicals look great! I have framed book pages too! I used a coffee table book that we had for years from a well known Kentucky photographer.
James is so cute! And I love those prints — so perfect for those spaces! The frames are gorgeous! And we have that clock too!
Great prints!! They look lovely in that room!
Great frames and prints! And your little one is such a happy, smiley guy! Brings a smile to my face 🙂

While a lot of my art is original, I have some botanical prints that were made from a Smith and Hawkins calendar from several years ago!

Very pretty! I can see why you added more once you finished the original arrangement.
What a cutie you have! I love botanical prints. You've done a great job utilizing them. Thanks for linking up girl!
Hi Megan, I just used this idea for our master and love it (love yours more though). I was bummed my local bookstore didn't have the book you used, but I found an acceptable alternative. Just posted your photo in my blog post about it.
