While perusing fabric for my living room drapes, I fell in love with this beauty. I love the lime greens, the whimsy of the birds and how the gray keeps it from looking too feminine even though it’s a floral print. In an effort to showcase this fabric somewhere in my home, I decided to incorporate it into our dining room design by turning it into a piece of art. Ultimately, I think I will add two square mirrors to either side of the art as well as neutral drapes so that I can change out the art and runner as the mood strikes. To make mine, I used:
Fabric
Canvas
Iron
Spray Adhesive (optional)
Staple gun
Teeth and nails (for hanging)
I started by ironing my fabric to remove any wrinkles. I used a 50 x 40 inch canvas because I wanted a large piece. I figured out where I wanted the fabric to lay, then sprayed a light coat of spray adhesive to the canvas and covered it with my fabric. Then I began stapling the fabric to the wooden frame. After all sides were stapled, we added teeth to the back for purposes of hanging. And then hung her up! I also made a coordinating runner with stitch witchery for the table. It’s feeling so springy in here right now! Can’t wait to add the mirrors, drapes, rug, sideboard . . . ha! Always a work in progress! But looking so much better than what we started with!
Yay for Friday! Yay for February! Finally. I was beginning to think January would never end! But it ended on a high note with the launch of our Get Fit…
Last week, I finally tackled a simple project that had been nagging at me for months. We switched our towel hooks for towel bars so that the towels could dry…
10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, baby’s asleep, hubby’s out doing man errands and I get to enjoy the magazines I’ve been wanting to get to all week with breakfast on our…
Good morning friends! We’re almost to Friday, which is always a good thing! How’s your week been? It’s been confusing here with our stay-at-home order being lifted May 1 and…
How’s your week going friends? I’m just over here counting down the days ’til the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like a kid at Christmas! It’s so close, opening this Thursday for cardholders. ??I got a friendly letter in the mail letting me know they upped my limit just in time for the sale- #thankyouverymuch! We’ll keep this little detail to ourselves and not bother the hubby with that tidbit of info! 😉 Are you excited?!?! Of course, I’ll be sharing my picks on Thursday and then a big ‘ole dressing room round up on Friday with fit tips and recommendations. Let me know what you have questions about and I’ll do my best investigative journalism for ya!
This swingy striped! cold shoulder dress is perfect for daytime or evenings out. Love the simplicity of it and the drapey fabric. Such a steal at right under $50! For a daytime look, you could wear it with the #10 sandals (they have lots of colors) & for evening, these black open toe heeled sandals would be great.
Show off your summer mani with this gorgeous, chic statement ring! I like to wear it on my first or middle finger on my right hand with a bold bracelet.
I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this maxi dress before. Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and it’s really flattering and comfortable. It’s on sale under $40! I wear XS.
High waist leggings will be your BFF, I swear! They keep you all nice and tucked in and make you feel great while working out. Zella quality is always superb, and this pair comes in three colors with criss-cross detail at the calf. They run TTS, I wear size XS.
Although I normally wear a tank to workout, this Zella tee is my go-to when I want a t-shirt. The seams in the shirt are perfectly placed to help the illusion of a smaller waist and I like the cut of the sleeves that don’t irritate me when I’m working out.
My go-to tank, $11!!! I think I need to stock up on the other colors. It’s perfect for wearing alone or layering under cardigans or other tops. It fits TTS, XS here.
I have the older version of these sandals and they are really good! They come in tons of colors and the “beige leather” has a snakeskin pattern that goes with everything. Sam Edelman makes quality shoes that last, so I highly recommend them!
Good morning friends! It’s been rain, rain, rain and several more days of rain forecasted over here. I’m kinda diggin’ it because last night we made hot cocoa, cuddled on…
