While the Christmas tree is coming along slowly but surely, I at least got the color pallet figured out. Instead of a red, white, and blue American flag holiday home, we now have turquoise, silver, white, and red. Nice huh? Here’s a little preview of those colors in a playful, festive vignette I put together in our bar area. First I filled the glass vases (from Target and Home Goods) with faux snow and ornaments. Then I wrapped “presents” and made a few bows. Snowflake ornaments from Hobby Lobby hang from above. Would you believe I did all of this and snapped some of the photos during James’ afternoon nap?! It’s true! Halfway through with wrapping paper and ribbon everywhere I started thinking, “He’s gonna wake up any minutes and be all over this!” But no:) I love this “naughty” and “nice” gift wrap I found at Wal-Mart last year. The other wrap is from Hobby Lobby and The Container Store. You say it doesn’t snow in Texas? Oh, I forgot to mention that Jimmy picked up a few poinsettias at Home Depot over the weekend. See that little guy peeking out at the end? 🙂 I’m sharing this post with Rhoda, Queen of Southern Hospitality! and my girl Nicolette at Momnivore’s Dilemma.
It feels so nice to have some of my projects featured recently on these wonderful blogs!! Thank you, thank you, thank you:) Go show them some love:) New Nostalgia –…
How’s your week going friends? I’m just over here counting down the days ’til the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like a kid at Christmas! It’s so close, opening this Thursday for cardholders. ??I got a friendly letter in the mail letting me know they upped my limit just in time for the sale- #thankyouverymuch! We’ll keep this little detail to ourselves and not bother the hubby with that tidbit of info! 😉 Are you excited?!?! Of course, I’ll be sharing my picks on Thursday and then a big ‘ole dressing room round up on Friday with fit tips and recommendations. Let me know what you have questions about and I’ll do my best investigative journalism for ya!
This swingy striped! cold shoulder dress is perfect for daytime or evenings out. Love the simplicity of it and the drapey fabric. Such a steal at right under $50! For a daytime look, you could wear it with the #10 sandals (they have lots of colors) & for evening, these black open toe heeled sandals would be great.
Show off your summer mani with this gorgeous, chic statement ring! I like to wear it on my first or middle finger on my right hand with a bold bracelet.
I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this maxi dress before. Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and it’s really flattering and comfortable. It’s on sale under $40! I wear XS.
High waist leggings will be your BFF, I swear! They keep you all nice and tucked in and make you feel great while working out. Zella quality is always superb, and this pair comes in three colors with criss-cross detail at the calf. They run TTS, I wear size XS.
Although I normally wear a tank to workout, this Zella tee is my go-to when I want a t-shirt. The seams in the shirt are perfectly placed to help the illusion of a smaller waist and I like the cut of the sleeves that don’t irritate me when I’m working out.
My go-to tank, $11!!! I think I need to stock up on the other colors. It’s perfect for wearing alone or layering under cardigans or other tops. It fits TTS, XS here.
I have the older version of these sandals and they are really good! They come in tons of colors and the “beige leather” has a snakeskin pattern that goes with everything. Sam Edelman makes quality shoes that last, so I highly recommend them!
With the gift of a few free minutes this weekend during James’ nap time, I made mini faux potted plants. These little guys are so cute and really easy to…
Can I just say I love you guys?!?! You had me at, “Get the pillow!!” Even Christina said she feels like she needs a Snoogle after reading the comments and…
Like I said yesterday, our sectional is great, but we need an ottoman for the middle to set things on. So far, I’ve been using a tray on the actual…

Feels like Christmas!:) Love the colors. I love to put ornaments in my big glass vases…I just realized I am missing the fake snow. Thanks for the tip! Now, I have to go get some tomorrow.
