30 Cold Weather Outfit Ideas

Happy Friday friends!!  I’m sad to say that our winter weather days may be behind us shortly, but I guess I shouldn’t complain because our weather lately has been quite nice!  We’ve gotten to spend lots of time comfortably outside and that’s a rarity around here.  Our summers are brutal so we always look forward to cold winter days where we get to bundle up in boots, scarves and sweaters.

Even though we’re warming up, I see so many of y’all are still getting cold and snow.  For your winter wardrobe inspiration, I rounded up 30 outfits for cold(ish) weather and categorized them into: 1) jeans, 2) leggings, 3) dresses, 4) black pants, 5) winter white, and 6) a pop of red, highlighting my tried and true favorites with fit info for you since I know it can be hard to shop online without the benefit of a try-on.  I always feel like I’m wearing the same thing everyday, so this was inspiring to me too to see how much I’ve mixed and matched these last few months.

Apparently, I like to wear jeans as it’s the biggest category, but as you’ll see below, I mostly wore either my bootcut jeans, favorite curvy skinny jeans, or my distressed jeans.  By changing up the top, shoes and accessories, it looks like you have a whole new outfit!  I almost always wear my Blue Aviators  (see the fit trick here– I can’t believe it was that easy!) or the Kate Spade sunnies I got at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. This pair is a great dupe for only $12.
Bootcut Jeans 40% off, only $54 now! (similar here with slightly different wash)- These are the add-10 inches jeans that make even the shortest of us ladies look like we have long legs. They run big, so size down. They have a lot of stretch, which makes them ultra comfy, but also looser throughout the day.  I’m wearing 0P and the length is fine on me with a heel and I didn’t have to alter them.  To maximize the leg-lengthening effect, wear a pointy toe shoe and tuck your top in.
Skinny Jeans 40% off – These skinny jeans are my go-to that I scored on sale and they are on sale again.  They are great because even though they are “skinny” style, they still fit my athletic, ie. bigger thighs, but the waist doesn’t gap in the back.  The mostly solid dark wash makes them easy to dress up with heels for a night out.  They run TTS, I’m in 25.Can’t beat under $100 for this designer denim!
Distressed Jeans (25) – Unfortunately this budget friendly pair of distressed jeans sold out, but this is a good light blue pair for $88, and fits TTS.  Mine were super long on me, so I had to get them altered.

Striped Sweater 30% off | Vest | Skinny Jeans 40% off  | Wedge Booties $130, $65 | Blue Aviators | Rebecca Minkoff Tote | Gorjana Necklace

Sweater | Skinny Jeans 40% off | OTK Boots 25% off | MK Bag | Similar Necklace & Here Military Jacket

Hue leggings – I was long overdue for a pair of good leggings, and y’all finally convinced me to try the Hue wide waistband leggings and I’m honestly hooked.  Most leggings have a skinny waistband that’s not all that comfortable or flattering, but this wide one is.  The leggings are nice and thick too, so I felt totally secure in them if that makes sense.  I got size XS and they fit great with room to stretch if I needed it.  They are longer at the ankle, but it’s not a concern because they ankle will never show since I wear them with boots. The brown and grey are on sale 40% off!

Black Crop Skinny Jeans – These black crop skinny jeans hit me right at the ankle and I love them! They are comfy and make you look like a skinny mini- I guess the black and way they are cut are slimming. They run TTS, I’m in size 25. They were one of my Must Haves for Fall and are under $80!

Favorite White JeansI’m sure you’ve heard me raving about this pair of white jeans that I’ve had for years and swear by.  They are the best white jeans I’ve tried because they are 99% cotton, 1% spandex and fit like a real jean as opposed to a jegging.  That means they are opaque and any lumps and bumps are perfectly smooth! YAAASSS!!! They fit TTS, I wear 25.  They were just on sale, and might have run out, but they always restock so keep a lookout.
Stretch Corduroy Skinny Pants – If you want a change from your typical jeans and pants, these corduroy might be your answer.  They are very flattering and come in regular and petite so you can find your right fit.  The 0P fit me, but are still a little long, so I roll them up a half cuff.  They’re currently 50% off and come in tons of colors.  The black would be perfect and go with everything!
I just posted this first outfit this week, with a full review of these Sloan Skinny Pants.  They  are a mid-rise, ankle length pant that’s fitted through the hip and thigh- which is why I call them the “Skinny Pants”.  They come is so many fun colors and patterns now too.  I had to size UP in these, to a size 2P- I couldn’t even get the 0P on!

    1. Thank you! I like my skinnies but these are nice for a change. I always feel the bootcut look better with a heel, so I wouldn't wear flats with them since I'm so short.

    1. So funny you say that, because I'm about ready to pull down the shorts I packed away in the attic! I cant' wait to see what's hiding up there!
