Playroom Seating Dilemma Solved!

Thanks to Best Fiends for sponsoring today’s post and keeping these boys happily entertained!

Hi there and Happy Memorial Weekend!  I hope you are relaxing and enjoying it with your family and friends!  We’re especially fond of this holiday because both my Dad and Grandpa served in the military, and we are so proud of them.  My Grandpa retired as a naval Commander after serving over 30 years in the Navy.  He loved his service and we love hearing all about his travels and adventures.

We’re taking it easy at home this weekend, which will include a trip to the pool and celebrating my brothers’ birthdays!  They are born six years and one day apart on Memorial weekend!  And we’ll likely be spending some time in playroom, thanks to the new seating we just picked up!  The boys have already claimed “their chairs” for playing Best Fiends!

Do you remember a couple weeks ago when I was telling you about our playroom seating dilemma?! I had in mind a white sofa for this room, but my husband wanted gaming chairs because he and James love to play video games up here. I wasn’t crazy about gaming chairs because I wanted something that Jordan and I could sit in comfortably as well and even my husband couldn’t find gaming chairs he wanted to purchase.

My white couch search was also frustrating because I wasn’t crazy about the idea of a slipcovered couch and although I searched forever, I still never felt like I had found “the one”.  The playroom isn’t huge, so size was a factor too.  So I kept looking and looking.
After the post about the seating dilemma, many of you suggested leather as opposed to white fabric as a kid-friendlier option.  It’s durable and cleans up easily.  And it kept nagging me that my husband (who very rarely voices a decor opinion – he’s just not that into it) specifically said he wanted chairs.  So I wanted to honor that.
The lightbulb finally went off in my head to look for leather chairs and then I found these leather armchairs! And the bonus is they swivel!!  Kinda like gaming chairs, right?!  But they are so big and soft and I love the look of the tufted seat back.

We ran (okay, drove!) but I felt like running to the store to test them out and we got lucky that they had them in stock! They kinda feel like you’re sitting in a very comfortable baseball glove!  Look how happy these guys are!  Which makes Mama happy too!

James gets to play with one of our old phones that has games on it and he and my hubby are currently hooked on Best Fiends that I mentioned above.  It’s a free puzzle adventure game where you collect and build a team of Fiends to defeat slugs by matching same-colored objects.  But it gets harder as you progress in levels and it does require some level of thinking and strategizing.

I swear they could play this game for hours! But I’ve played too and not to toot my own horn or anything, but I got to Level 19 in like, 20 minutes!  Just sayin’! My husband is making me say here that he’s on level 59.  #okayyouwin!

There’s always something extra going on in Best Fiends, like in-game events and even a cute little animated video you can watch to see the slugs in action at ‘Boot Camp’ and then you can even play the new in-game weekly Boot Camp event and win tons of rewards.

So, needless to say, the boys are happy with the chairs we found.  They can (sort of) snuggle up and play Best Fiends together on one chair! ?

And even Jordan likes them!  I’m looking forward to some future cuddles with her!  Yay for a solution the whole family is happy with!
Have a great Memorial Day Weekend! ?
