What to Wear for a Girls Weekend

Happy Friday friends!  I made it safely to Dallas thanks to my road trip companions Veronika and Sara!

I shred on Stories what I was packing for the trip and here you go in blog form with all the links in case you want to shop these looks.  Everything except the dress for Friday night was already in my closet, so I’m glad not to stress (too much) about what to wear.  These kinds of conferences are really fun, but also can be stressful like any big event where you can feel self conscious for no good reason. Thankfully, I have several friends there, so it’s really an opportunity to get together face to face for some adult girlfriend time!  Here’s what I’m wearing and I’ll do a recap of the trip next week!
THURSDAY

A recent addition to my wardrobe is this great navy (almost looks black) and white check peplum bustier.  It’s really flattering on and the fabric has a good weight to it.  I figure I might as well arrive in Dallas in something I feel great in.  The crop skinny jeans are a no brainer and isn’t the choker fun?! I got that last year, but it’s still in stock!

THURSDAY NIGHT
After check-in and the welcome reception, there’s a Rooftop Pool Party hosted by Sole Society.  A maxi dress is a good option for that event and I’ll wear this one you saw in The Short Girl’s Guide to Long Dresses.  This petite-sized dress fits perfectly, hitting right at the ground without alterations.  I’ve only gotten to wear it a few times, so it’s “new” to me!
FRIDAY

On the agenda for Friday is an early morning breakfast, followed by several hours of conference speakers and networking.  We’ll go to lunch in Uptown Dallas and I hear it’s a ‘Spring picnic’- I bet that will be pretty.  When we get back, there are a few meetings, more networking, and classes.
I’ll be wearing the same dress I watched James get recognized for honor roll recently #proudmama, so it’s got extra fond memories! It’s playful, colorful and easy to wear because it’s loose fitting so you can relax and be comfortable in it.
FRIDAY NIGHT

That evening, we’ll attend a cocktail party before heading out to a girl’s dinner.  We let Cassie make the dinner reservations since we’ll be in her backyard and well, she knows good food! We basically ate our way through NYC last October!
This is the dress I showed you on Stories that I picked out on an impromptu trip to Nordstrom to alter this midi tank dress.  I had to get 5 inches shaved off that one so it would hit me mid calf.
But this off shoulder sheath dress fit really well in 2P. Actually, if I was being picky, I probably could have had it taken in a tad at the hips, but I’m calling it good for now! I love the neckline and bright color for a fun night out. I had no makeup and hair up when I tried this on, but I think I like the hair up to show off the neckline, so I may do that Friday night.
SATURDAY
Saturday morning will be another meeting and classes, then a garden lunch.  We’ll get a long break before the night’s festivities begin.  I know I’ll be ready to get into jeans by Saturday, so I’m basically wearing the same outfit you saw me in here yesterday- just different booties and necklace!

SATURDAY NIGHT

The finale party starts at 8 pm and the invite said black tie optional. I’ve had this black crochet type dress since last year, but haven’t gotten to wear it much, so it’s perfect for this event. It’s kind of hard to see in this picture, but the crochet detail is gorgeous and a little bit sexy because it has some delicately placed sheer parts.
SUNDAY

I know I’m gonna wake up on Sunday morning soooo ready to get home to my babes!  We’ll basically just be getting up and getting going, so I’m bringing these ultra comfy black skinny crop (full length on me;) jeans and this comfy cute gingham top.
Have a great weekend, friends! ?
