Floral Crop Pants

Hi friends!  I have to tell you my heart has been all swollen with love and appreciation for all your genuine and thoughtful comments on my Body After Baby- One Year Later post.  That draft had been circulating in my head for a long time and finally committing it to a post and hitting publish felt like such a huge relief.  I’m so glad that it was received in the way I intended! Thank you so much for that. The last couple days, we’ve been enjoying having Courtney here and it’s been the best visit!  We hung out at home with the kids, hit up a couple of my favorite cafes and restaurants and even treated ourselves to a massage, which felt amazing! The last massage I had was the prenatal one I was gifted at my baby shower, so this one was waaay different!  I really loved sharing my home and family with Court and my kids totally took to her.  Seeing her playing on the floor with James and Jordan while I cooked dinner in the kitchen was a beautiful sight!  We said goodbye yesterday and miss her already!

Today, I’m sharing a better look at the Floral Crop Pants that I initially tried on in this Dressing Room post and ended up wearing at Jordan’s first birthday party.  The floral dress I was going to wear is coming up tomorrow, and it’s a beauty, but these pants ended up being much more comfortable and appropriate for getting down on the floor and playing with babies and helping open presents.

I’d been wanting a flowy casual pair of pants I could run around in when I didn’t feel like wearing jeans.  The style is so lightweight and comfortable, that you feel like you’re wearing pajamas, but they are super cute and figure flattering and funny enough, seem more dressed up than jeans.
It can be challenging to get the fit right in this kind of pants because sometimes the crotch will hang too low, making them a definite “no”, but these fit great in XXS.  #crotchjustright! The waist is elastic and you can tighten it some with the tie waist belt.
As you can see, these pants were an obvious choice for sitting and getting on the floor with Jordan.
I like wearing them with heels to help my legs look longer and dress up the outfit, but you could wear them with flats too.  Courtney and I popped into Nordstrom while she was here (of course!) and I loved this charming ballet flat with perforated detail.  They come in a ton of colors and were very comfortable on.
On the pants, the floral print is balanced against the dark background which makes them understated and they are just adorable for Spring.

With this type of flowy pant, I like to wear a fitted top, tucked in to balance it out, but I thought this pale pink top would be cute too since it hits right at the waist and the color goes well.
If it’s still getting cool where you are, a tan jacket pairs great with this outfit and brings out the blush pink in the pants.

This jacket actually comes in 5 gorgeous colors, the slate blue and cloud grey being among my favorites.  This was one of those “had to have” jackets that I bought a couple months ago even though our temps are warming up because I couldn’t chance it selling out before I could get my hands on it!  I’m taking advantage of every opportunity to wear it and it’s a definite fave!

The quality is amazing and the silver zip details, buttons, belt and stitching make it so cool.  I feel so much more stylish than I am when I put this jacket on!

And I wanted to show you one more pair of flowy-style pants I found that I love that are solid in case a printed pant isn’t your thing, but you like the style.  This black pair are so comfy and have a cute tie at the ankle.  It’s I Dream of Jeannie all grown up!  The XS fit well, but are still a tad loose at the waist.  I’m gonna wash them and see if they shrink some, because they are meant to hit higher on your leg, but I’m such a shorty!
The striped top is one of my faves!  It fits TTS and is silky smooth.  I adore the bit of black contrast on the scoop neck.
This week is flying by!  Still a few things to do to get ready for my baby brother’s wedding on Saturday!  And then it’s Spring Break!!
Hope y’all have a great day – only one more day til the weekend!
