Weekend Steals & Fun New Finds

“What season are we in?” James asked me last night.  I had to double check when Spring officially starts because, based on yesterday’s weather, you’d think we were in Spring already!  So, March 20 is the official start, but if you’re like me, you’re ready to say bye, bye to Winter and hello Spring! #amIright?
I’m getting back to basics with a fun Weekend Steals post, full of what I found to be the best of the best from Nordstrom’s Winter Sale, which ends on Sunday.  I actually wasn’t going ga-ga for this sale, but there were a few hidden gems in there, so I pulled those out to share with you.  And I came across a couple of ga-ga worthy ‘just in’ things that I couldn’t wait to show you!
Cold Shoulder Top $69, $41 (XS)
I just bought this top to wear to my soon to be sister-in-law’s bachelorette party this weekend and it is darling on!  I don’t have a pic of me in it yet, but trust me, it’s soooo cute with eyelet lace ruffles at the hem and cuffs.  I’m planning to wear it with skinny jeans (similar) and heels.  And you know I’ll be wearing this strapless bra with it! 😉
Gah!  I did get super excited about this darling ruffle trim cardi!!!!  Isn’t it so sweet?! The feminine ruffle puts it over the edge for me!  Wear it casual with jeans or to work with slacks or a skirt or even over a dress.  It also comes in Navy. #yesplease! I’m ordering XXS because this brand tends to run big on me.  It says backordered, but I find things normally ship much faster than originally stated.
Gingham Top $79, $47 XS
This top is crinkled gingham fabric with sweet 3/4 length sleeves. I’ve found this to be a quality brand and their shirts last forever.  I like this with dark wash jeans and wedges or even white jeans and sneakers. It also comes in “honeydew” which looks lemon/lime on my screen.  It comes in regular or petite.
Sweater (4 colors) $98, $64 (XS) Similar Sunglasses $12 | Similar Earrings
I adore this marbled cable knit sweater so much!  The pink I’m wearing sold out, but it still comes in 4 other equally as gorgeous colors.  It’s cozy and slouchy, but fits right at your waist.  I’d love to pair it with jean shorts this Spring on a windy day!

If you don’t have one of these pillowy soft cardis, now’s the time to grab one while they’re 30% off and still available in most colors and sizes. The black and white stripe one is cool, but they also have so much fun light colors for Spring.  They’re great for out and about and even cozying up in at home.
While not on sale, this gorgeous cardi is under $50 and one of my favorites!  The new color is slightly lighter grey than what I’m wearing and I know y’all were bummed when it sold out, so I wanted to alert you to this new one that just came out.  I sized down to XXS in this one.Pink Dupe Aviators | Rayban Aviators (blue)

I finally found a good quality pair of sunglasses in aviator style that didn’t feel like plastic cheapies.  I love my blue ones so much that I wanted a second pair in another color, so I choose the gold/pink lens, but the pink also looks yellow/gold when you look from certain angles.  The shape is the same as the aviators, but they are slightly larger.  All in all a really good buy at less than half the price of Raybans.

Statement Necklace $62, $37
How pretty is this crystal statement necklace?!  I often reach for mine that’s similar to this to dress up an outfit. It’s the perfect amount of bling bling!
V-Neck Sweater XS 40% off | Similar Earrings Sunglasses |  Michael Kors Tote

Striped Dress XS | Blazer | Leopard Clutch, a dupe for this one | Ring | Black Heels

Pendant Necklace $20, $11.98
I have this necklace, but an older version with oval shape and it’s a great, inexpensive way to add interest to your outfit.  If you don’t want to splurge on the Kendra Scott Rayne Pendant necklace, get this one.  The stone isn’t as big and it’s not double-sided, but for $12, you can’t beat it!
Faux Leather Reversible Tote $48, $31
Y’all have seen me carry this tote for years.  I have it in two other color combos and it’s just such a great all-around bag.  Mine have held up for years with lots of use and it’s surprisingly not that heavy for the quality.  I love the fresh grey/ivory color combo on this one.  It’ll go with everything and look great this Spring and into Summer.

I mentioned in the Living Room Refresh post that these peep-toe booties are finally on sale, but it’s worth repeating because they’re that good!  I love them so much I bought them in both the black and brown.  Size down though because they run big.
Bootie $149, $89
How cute is this bootie with the front v-cut and the triangle perforation detail on the sides?!  They’ve gotten great reviews for fit, comfort and versatility.  Most ladies said they fit TTS, but if you have a wide foot, you may want to size up a 1/2 size.  Also, the grey is more charcoal than warm grey.
Another re-mention is my very favorite high-heel pump is on sale- and you just saw in the Dressed-Up Ripped Jeans post from above.  I have them in several colors- the black and tan are no-brainers, but I also love the perforated pink!  They are so comfy, and feminine and classic pointy toe pump.  Your legs will look killer in these!
Wedges (also in grey)
And I just got these new babies in, but I need to size down a half size, so unfortunately, back they go! #daaaang!!!! They were comfortable and easy to walk in, just a little loose.  The color is pretty pretty in person
Finally, I keep checking to see if maybe, hopefully, please, please, please, these platform sandals are restocked in my size, but still no luck! ?

  1. Always love a good sale, and I finally snagged a pair of the SE heels! Now, I need a pair of those Ray Ban dupes and a good pair of wedges. With the high temps this week in Dallas, I'm so ready to ditch the winter clothes and forge ahead into spring. Have a great weekend, Megan!

    1. I hear ya Michele! We're already having Spring-like weather and I was in flip flops today!! I hope it stays this way for a trip with have planned to Galveston soon! Have a great weekend!

  2. Love to read your blog & love all your fashion finds. I live in Canada but will be travelling to Nashville & Texas during the month of March. I'm wondering what to pack in the way of clothes I seem to remember reading that you live in the Texas area, any pointers on what to wear would be appreciated.

    1. Yes! Hi! I'm in Houston and right now it has been really warm- you could get away with jeans/short sleeve tops, dresses, even shorts during the day when the sun's out. We've also been getting our fair share of rain, so be prepared for that just in case. But, Houston weather is also known for being nutty and could be cold(ish) too (where you'd need a jacket), so you really have to check the 10-day forecast close to your travel date to be on the safe side.

    2. And thank you so much for reading! I have a special spot in my heart for Canadians because my best friend is from Canada! I hope you have a great trip to the states!

    3. Thanks for the info. Megan we're really looking forward to visiting Texas as it will be our first time. Thanks for the wardrobe advice. If I need to "add to my wardrobe" somewhat I can always make a detour into Nordstrom's assuming I can park my husband close to a Starbuck's. Enjoy your week-end.
