Leopard Heels

Hoo-ray for hump-day!  How’s your week going?  With getting over being sick, it feels like our week is just getting started!  I’m super stoked about today’s post though because I just found a pair of leopard heels that I already cannot get enough of!  I’ve been wanting them forever but the perfect pair eluded me! Until now!
This pair is awesome because the leopard pattern, shape, and color is just right with a feminine pointed toe, and tall, but not-too-tall 3-inch heel.  I usually wear a size 6 in heels, which is what I got in this pair.  They fit slightly big, but not enough for me to size down a half-size.  I thought I might need a foot pad, but I’ve been wearing them without it and they’ve been fine.  This particular pair comes in 7 colors, and the nude and hot pink are also keepers.
This shoe is by Sam Edelman, which I find to be a quality, reasonably-priced brand (with free shipping). All of the shoes I have from that brand are comfortable and have held up well after lots of wear.
I styled this leopard heel 3 ways for you and was planning to put them all in one post, but this one got too long, so I’ll show you the next 2 looks tomorrow.

This first look shows you how you can add interest to your neutral outfit with a pop of leopard.  It’s okay to love neutrals and you don’t have to feel boring in them!  A neutral color palette is sophisticated, classic and chic.
I’m wearing a tan sweater with my white tank underneath (just peeking out a bit at certain angles for another layer of interest) and my favorite crop skinny jeans (these things take 10 pounds off, I swear!).  I could’ve worn a black or nude heel, but the pop of leopard amps it up with a sassy twist.

You’ve seen me reaching for this V-Neck Sweater a ton in the past few months, for example, styled here with over-the-knee boots and here with a plaid scarf and booties.  It’s a classic v-neck and the fit is perfectly slouchy chic with the back being slightly longer and small cut-outs on the side.  It does come in other colors too, if you end up loving it and want more than one!  I’m wearing size XS and it’s a roomy fit.  Size down if you want a slimmer fit.

Black Crop Skinny Jeans – These black crop skinny jeans hit me right at the ankle (I’m 5’1) and I love them! They are comfy and make you look like a skinny mini- I guess the black and way they are cut are slimming. They run TTS, I’m in size 25. They were one of my Must Haves for Fall and are under $80!

I was thrilled to open this Tory Burch crossbody bag gift on Christmas morning!  That my 6 year-old son, James, picked it out makes it even more special!  He’s got good taste, right?!  But bonus points for Dad for pointing him in the right direction! 😉
The bag has fun geometric black and white pattern that adds interest to your outfit and mixes well with the pattern in the leopard shoes.  It’s leather, but the quilted texture makes the bag very Spring friendly!  It’s on sale 33% off now!

The inside is wallet-like with compartments for your ID and cards, with both slip and zip pockets. The back is solid black.
The wrap bracelet was another Christmas gift from several years ago from my sweet friend Audrey. Love that girl!  She got to go to the Superbowl and when I talked to her the next day, she had no voice and had scheduled the day off work! #smartgirl!  She said it was an absolute blast.
Speaking of Spring, I think this may be the last time I get to wear this leather jacket (similar here & heresize up in this one) and leopard scarf (similar) for a while, but I wanted to include these layering pieces here since I know lots of you are still freezing your butts off!
You can also see that it’s okay to add two pops of leopard, espeically when one is on your feet and other is up by your neck.

These sunglasses are a dupe for my favorite blue Ray Ban Aviators, but I love the blue so much that I wanted to get them in another color.  I scored the Aviators on sale, and I’ve been waiting for them to go on sale again, but haven’t seen it.  I’ll let you know when I do!

I used to think I couldn’t wear aviators because they never sat on my face right, then I learned the fit trick!  #wherehadIbeen?!?!

So, to save money, I ordered this dupe pair of aviators in the same style, just a different brand.  I got the gold/pink lens, but the pink also looks yellow/gold when you look from certain angles.  The shape is the same as the aviators, but they are slightly larger and I do prefer the smaller scale of the real aviators better because I’m petite.
Aviators: 58mm lens width; 14mm bridge width; 135mm temple length
Dupe:  57mm lens width; 21mm bridge width; 143mm temple length
Sunglasses Fit:  I compared the measurements of both pair of sunglasses and thought the dupe pair would be smaller based on the lens width. The ‘bridge with’ is the distance between the two lenses and  ‘temple length’ means the arm of the sunglasses.  BUT, I think they should include the ‘lens height’ which is what is bigger on this dupe pair than the true aviators.  It’s a minor detail, but sunglasses can be so tricky to look good on!
See! I told you this post was long!  I’ll share two more ways to style these leopard heels tomorrow!  Have a great Wednesday friends and I’ll see you tomorrow!
