3 Valentine’s Day Outfits

Happy Superbowl weekend!  Truth be told, I’m more about getting together with friends, indulging in chicken wings, dips and desserts and the halftime show and commercials more than the game.  But it is exciting to have it in our hometown, even if we’ll just be watching from home.  I have some lucky friends going and I can’t wait to hear about all the celebrity sightings! Even Martha Stewart will be there!
Our city is crazy with guests and don’t even think about going to the Galleria or downtown unless you want to be shoulder-to-shoulder with everyone!  If you happen to be visiting Houston, you can check out our favorite coffee spots or things to do with kids.  We went to the NFL Experience downtown on Wednesday after school and it was really fun.  It’s a huge interactive set-up with lots of games, exhibits and play zones.  I hear the food trucks and tents are amazing, but we didn’t get to partake. Jordan didn’t make it past 6 p.m. so she and I headed home early, but the boys stayed late and had a blast.

Today, I’m looking forward to Valentine’s Day with three dressy casual outfits that you could wear on any weekend, but they are especially Valentine’s Day friendly with a pop of pink. ?

I went gaga for this cable knit sweater that comes in several different gorgeous pastel colors for Spring, but chose the pink for V-Day.  The yellow was my next choice. I love how it’s not solid, but marbled and textured with a slouchy fit.
If it’s still chilly where you are, you can layer your jean jacket over it and y’all know I’m partial to this one.  It’s the softest and the XS is a slim fit so it doesn’t add extra bulk.
I also like the light wash because it goes great with white jeans and looks good with dark denim too. Avoid wearing matching denim washes on top and bottom so you don’t look like you’re wearing a uniform.
I’m wearing my Favorite White Jeans but they were just on sale, so last time I looked they were sold out.  This pair of white jeans is a good budget option at $79 with the same cotton/spandex ratio (98%/2%) as the pair I’m wearing.  I like that because then they fit more like a jean than a jegging to keep things smooth.
I opted to forgo a necklace in lieu of bold drop earrings, but you certainly could dress this outfit up with a statement necklace. For me, I usually like one or the other.  So if I’m wearing a big necklace, I’ll usually wear my stud earrings.

Another outfit with a pop of pink and your favorite skinny jeans is this pretty tiered blouse.  I originally tried it on thinking it would be great for work, school luncheons, and church, but I like it for date night with jeans and heels.

You can wear it tucked or untucked and I think it would look great with bootcut jeans too.  I’ve heard from lots of you lately who’ve said that they hate skinny jeans!
If you do like them, this is my current favorite pair: Skinny Jeans 40% off – These skinny jeans are my go-to that I scored on sale and they are on sale again.  They are great because even though they are “skinny” style, they still fit my athletic, ie. bigger thighs, but the waist doesn’t gap in the back.  The mostly solid dark wash makes them easy to dress up with heels for a night out.  They run TTS, I’m in 25. Can’t beat under $100 for this designer denim!

And last but not least, a special shout out to the adorable pale pink sweater!  The black lace is sewn into the sweater making it one piece!
Sweater (runs big) (similar sweater with this bralette) | Black Crop Skinny Jeans (under $80)

Black Crop Skinny Jeans – These black crop skinny jeans hit me right at the ankle and I love them! They are comfy and make you look like a skinny mini- I guess the black and way they are cut are slimming. They run TTS, I’m in size 25. They were one of my Must Haves for Fall and are under $80!
Have a great weekend, friends! ?

  1. Can I ask which black lace bralette you're wearing under the beige v-neck sweater? I assume it's fm Nordstrom's but they have quite a variety on their site. Thanks!
