3 Must-Have Fall Jackets (Faux Leather)

Waking up so very tired today after trying to stay up late enough to hear the election results (didn’t make it) and then Jordan still hasn’t gotten the memo about Daylight Savings.  So much for that extra hour of sleep! I know so many of our country is stunned and saddened right now and so many others still have hope for our future.  It feels like this election lasted an eternity and I’m grateful for the finality.  I’m also an eternal optimist and will just say, “I know everything’s gonna be alright.”  I’m still just trying to figure out how to appropriately and sensitively answer all of my curious son’s questions.  When I tried to explain the electoral college to him last night, he flatly said, “I don’t get it.” #yourenotalonekid

You might be ready for a distraction from all the emotional drama, so today kicks off a 3-day series I put together for you – 3 Must Have Fall Jackets.  These three are the jackets I find myself reaching for time and time again and mix and match from my closet all the time:  1) a faux leather jacket; 2) a military jacket; and 3) a jean jacket.  I’ll share my picks for quality affordable versions of each, along with ways to style them over the next few days.
Let’s get started with the oh so chic, faux leather jacket. This faux leather jacket is super chic, comes in black and brown and has over 600 positive reviews.  It’s also under $100!  I have it in both brown and black, as you’ll see below.  Be warned, however, that it runs small- I would normally buy an XS, but in this jacket Small fit me perfectly.  I’m 5’1, about 105 pounds.

I’m also kinda dying over this new moto suede style jacket too, but I’m sticking with the topic, faux leather for today! #focusMegan!

I first wanted to show you how you can pair your jacket with black jeans since we tend to always see them with blue denim.  I’m wearing my fave crop skinny jeans, but they hit at my ankle since I’m so short.  It was warmer the day I photographed this outfit, so I’m in heels, but black boots would also look great with this outfit.

The long sleeve top is lightweight, comes in a ton of colors, and is only $25.  I love them for layering in the Fall. It runs true to size, I’m in XS.

You can add visual interest to your outfit with a bit of pattern and I chose leopard in the clutch and the scarf, but also showed you how you could pick and choose between the two and carry a grey clutch.

And below I’m showing you several other outfits that benefit from the cool, edgy look of a faux leather jacket.

This style jacket looks fantastic with even your dressy dresses.  If you keep your jacket slim fitting, it won’t overwhelm your body or your delicate outfit.

You can never go wrong with jeans, booties, a casual top and a statement necklace.  This is an easy date night look that’s both comfy and stylish.

For a softer look, I love a brown or tan faux leather jacket.  They look great over Fall dresses with boots or booties.

And of course denim with tall boots.

And a friendly reminder that Nordstrom’s huge Fall Clearance Sale goes ends Sunday, so be sure to take advantage of that!

Do you have a favorite faux leather jacket?  What color do you prefer?
