The Perfect Fit Bra

Happy Columbus Day friends! For us, that means no school and a day with two of James’ cousins that he loves to play with.  We got ‘booed’ over the weekend, so we need to do some booing of our own. Today will be a great day for that!  Thankfully, Jordan is feeling so much better, and she’s back to her energetic, happy self.  Thank you for the well wishes!  It’s definitely no fun when baby isn’t feeling well.
For today, I’m continuing the important, but often overlooked, business of undergarments (see my favorite sports bras here, favorite shapewear here, and now, probably the most coveted and useful bra for everyday- the T-shirt bra!
Isn’t it amazing how elusive a good T-shirt bra can be?  They’re often too tight, too loose, don’t give enough support, the straps hurt, the underwires poke, and on and on.  But, when you find the perfect bra that you put on and forget about, it’s like a little piece of bra heaven!

I was introduced to ThirdLove, the first bra brand I’ve heard of that offers half-sizes and also takes into consideration your breast shape when fitting you for a bra.  And, they have a quick online quiz that you can take from the comfort and privacy of your own home if you feel uncomfortable getting a bra fitting from someone at a store or you just don’t have the time.

It was funny when I took the quiz because I’ve never really considered how the shape of your chest would impact the type of bra you’d be best suited for. With their Fit Finder iPhone app, you’ll get your perfect size and bra recommendation and then you can actually “try before you buy“.  What that means is, you only pay shipping up front and then you can wash, wear and live in the bra for 30 days and if you love it, keep it for $68, and if it’s not a perfect fit, return or exchange it for a different size.

The results of my Fit Finder were the 24/7 Classic Push-Up Bra and the 24/7 Classic T-Shirt Bra in size 34D.  Both fit like a glove!  ThirdLove makes their bras with cup size D or larger with a bit shorter straps for better lift and more secure fit.  I can’t even tell you how many bras I’ve tried where I couldn’t get the straps short enough! I’d have it as tight as it would go, but I was still a bit droopy.  Not the look or fit I was going for!

ThirdLove makes several styles of bras, the Lace Balconette is gorgeous, and the Strappy T-Shirt bra looks fun, but I’ve only tried the 24/7 Classic Push-Up Bra and the 24/7 Classic T-Shirt Bra.

It’s a little awkward to show you the pics below and draw your attention to my bust, but I wanted to show you how the 24/7 Classic T-Shirt Bra  brings the girls up without any spilling over or digging straps.  And what you can’t see in the pictures is that it’s comfortable and fits well!

Below, I’m wearing the 24/7 Classic Push-Up Bra which gives added lift and a shows bit more cleavage with open front tops, while still being quite comfortable.

And it’s the same bra I wore on Friday to keep the girls up in that turtleneck top.

Every woman knows a good t-shirt bra is worth it’s weight in gold, right?!  If you have trouble finding your size, ThirdLove offers bras in AA-G cups and 28-42″ bands.  Go here to take the quick quiz to find your bra recommendation and size!  You can thank me later when you forget you’re wearing a bra! 😉

And if you’re the type of woman who likes to match her undies to her bra, ThirdLove has those too!

Enjoy your day!

*Big thanks to ThirdLove for sponsoring today’s post and making me forget I’m wearing a bra!

  1. Thanks Megan…I'll give this app a try once I get to a point where I'm done losing weight. For me, the first place that gets smaller is the girls and although I kept some of my bras when I started gaining weight, they certainly could use an upgrade. Plus at 48, my deflated balloons could use all the uplifting they can get!
