Sweater Weather

We are certainly glad it’s the weekend!  This dang stomach bug wiped out our whole family this week.  First it got Jordan, then me and my hubby, and finally James.  Thankfully, everyone is better now, but we just want to relax this weekend!  You have no idea how happy us Houstonians are that we are finally seeing a dip in our temperatures. It just puts everyone in such a good mood to have cooler weather and we’re so over sweating our butts off after a long, hot summer.  Makes us want to pull out all our warmer clothes and celebrate with a sweater party!
Today, I’m share two lighter weight sweaters I’m smitten with right now.  We’ll still have to save our heavier sweaters for a little later.  First up is this cozy v-neck sweater that comes in 4 colors and is loose fitting, I’m wearing size XS.

Of course, I’m a neutrals girl at heart, so I paired the sweater with tan OTK boots and neutral accessories, but you can add a pop of color through scarves now.  It’s an easy and inexpensive way to brighten up your outfit.  These OTK boots I got during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I’ve been waiting, quite impatiently, to break them out.  I also recently got this killer grey pair! #greyismyfavoritecolor and everytime I think that I hear this song in my head.

This sweater is longer in the back so you can also wear it with your leggings (love these) for our favorite weekend running errands look.

If it’s already cold where you are, you’re probably already starting to pull out the layers.  I’m all about my hats during the winter.  Instant good hair days!  I have to thank you for encouraging me to stick with the darker hair.  At this point, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to all-over blonde.  I haven’t had my hair colored since my last appointment and now that I’m growing out my roots, I don’t have plans to go back for months.  #freedom!!!!

And the military jacket is versatile enough to go anywhere.

And next is a gorgeous wrap sweater in burgundy, but it also comes in blue.  It also runs big and I probably could have gone with the XXS, but I’m in XS here.  This look is head to toe Nordstrom and I included a handy widget at the end of the post so you can shop directly from that if you want.

Isn’t that multistrand necklace fun?! I may have bought it in 3 colors! #noshame!

I don’t get to wear heels that often anymore while chasing around a little baby, so when I get the chance, I love the added height and sassy look!

Speaking of Jordan, I feel like she’s been on the go since birth!  It could be my faded memory, but everything seems to be happening at lightening speed with her.  She started pulling up awhile ago and now this little one is standing up and letting go!  She can stand on her own for a few mesmerizing seconds before falling onto her tush.

The best part of it is that you can tell by the look on her face just how proud of herself she is! Such a big girl already!  But, this cautious mom moved the coffee table out of the living room for now until she’s a little more steady.  What did you do for a coffee table during the toddling years?

Have a great weekend!

  1. Great post and love the outfits!! We used an oversized cushioned ottoman for a coffee table when the kids were little. Nice and soft, can put your feet on and use for extra storage for toys. Big win!!
