Budget Bootcut Jeans

Happy Friday friends!  I had big plans to share a detailed post on a fantastic t-shirt and push up bra to wrap up my undies series (see my favorite sports bras here and favorite shapewear here), but my little baby got a stomach bug yesterday and it’s all I can do to keep the puke off of her and me and everything else!  Poor thing, she just wants to be held and I know she feels terrible, but hopefully, she’s on the mend.  So, today’s post will be short and sweet, a quick look at these great, budget-friendly ($89.50!) bootcut jeans. I’ll share the specifics on the bras on Monday.  #yourgirlswillthankme ðŸ˜‰

You guys know I’m a big fan of bootcut jeans, and my friend Cassie told me about her new pair (on our trip, we did manage to talk about more than food!), and she was saying how she loved how long they made her legs look and I feel the same!  It’s not easy to make a 5’1 girl look tall, but even I look leggy in these jeans!
I will say they run big, so size down.  I’m wearing 0P and the length is fine on me even with a heel, but the fit feels like I need to wash them to shrink them just a tad.  They have a lot of stretch, which makes them ultra comfy, but also looser throughout the day.
With a bootcut jean, you can really accentuate your shape by tucking in your top and adding closed-toe heels to make those legs look they go on forever.  A pointy toe adds even more length.
My turtleneck top is a recent addition to my closet, and if you like them (I know some people hate them! Hi Mom!) I highly recommend this one.  It’s fitted and so super soft, and comes in 4 colors. The neck part doesn’t choke you and there isn’t too much neck fabric- it slouches well too, which I like. Apparently other people like it too- it’s gotten nearly 100 positive reviews.
In the future, you’ll be seeing this same outfit with a faux fur or puffer vest, which is what I had in mind when I bought the turtleneck. You sometimes want thin layers under those vests because they keep you quite warm.

For now, just a lightweight bomber-style jacket is appropriate.  This jacket is almost like a shirt because it’s thin.  It’s lined, but not a heavy jacket, more like a windbreaker in terms of warmth.  See more bomber jacket love here and here.

I’m gonna get back to my sweet baby girl now, and I’ll share my bra post with you on Monday!  For more early Fall fashion inspiration, see this post packed with complete everyday outfit styles.
Have a great weekend friends!

  1. Ugh, this stomach bug is EVERYWHERE in Houston right now. Hot tip: Clorox wipes don't kill this virus. Lysol spray does, but bleach solution is even more effective. I hope your baby girl feels better soon!

  2. My little one just turned one (how did that happen?!) and she got hit with a tummy bug not too long ago also. Those baby tummy bugs are the worst! Snuggles seem to be the best medicine sometimes.
Bought the same jeans after reading Cassie's post and I absolutely LOVE them. I typically wear a 4-6 in jeans and went with the 4. So glad I did because, like you said, they tend to stretch out just a bit. Thank goodness bootcut jeans are making a comeback! I think I wore them to work 3 out of 5 days last week!

  3. Hope your baby feels better soon!
I love turtleneck tops, and this one looks soooo good on you! Great choice on accessories as well 🙂
