Our Weekend & Labor Day Sales!

I hope y’all are enjoying a wonderful Labor Day weekend!  We made the quick trip to Austin for the UT game and are heading back home.  I thought we’d never get out the door on Saturday morning though!  Even for a two-day trip, there’s so much to remember to pack for the baby and it felt like we couldn’t get it together.  We didn’t get on the road until about 12:30 when my husband said the night before he thought we’d head out around 8:30! Ha! Then, Jordan had a mini meltdown before falling asleep in the car and James felt carsick, which just reminds me that road trips are fun in theory, but not necessarily always smooth.  Once we got there though, it was much better!
Jordan and I dressed up for the game, but didn’t end up going. She still goes to sleep so early (usually around 6pm) and I thought the noise and crowds and heat would be too much for her and me to handle so we stayed in.  I was trying to remember in the past if I’ve seen babies at football games and I think so, but wearing headphones to block out the noise.  What age would you bring your baby to a game?  Maybe had this one been during the day, she could’ve come if we kept her out of the sun.  I do look forward to when we can all go together because it’s been a family tradition.

James is obsessed with dressing up like JJ Watt and wore his uniform for two days until it was time to change into his UT shirt.  We kept telling him he was gonna be hot and he might want to wear shorts and a tee shirt, but he wouldn’t have it.  I really don’t care what he wears- especially when it makes him so happy to wear what he wants.  He was a big hit on the streets and so many people stopped to talk to him or give him a high five, which he loved!
Jordan is just big enough now to sit in a highchair with supervision.  She’s eating some solids now and had her first avocado at Gueros.
Mama had a margarita – actually shared it with my hubby. I shared this pic on Insta and a lot of you asked about the bracelets and ring, so I’m linking them here.  The rings came in my Rocksbox and you can get your first month free with code HONEYWEREHOMEXOXO.  The bracelets are a set, so you get five in one.
When the boys went to the game, Jordan and I went down to the pool for a little bit.  It was evening and there were only a couple people there, so it was really nice and relaxing.

I thought I might just veg on the couch after she went to sleep, since I’d have the whole hotel room to myself, but I wanted to see the pics I took, so I downloaded them from my camera and then drafted this post!
I had to also check out the Labor Day sales and saw that LOFT is having a major Labor Day sale with an extra 60% off sale styles, so the prices are crazy good!  They also have FREE shipping on orders over $125.

tank sweater $44.50, $12.50 | curvy kick crop jeans $59.50, $24.94
I’m all for winter white, and this texture stitch tank is awesome!  It’s the perfect combo of sweater and tank top! Sometimes I like summer sweaters on the slouchy side, but this tank looks good fitted.  It also comes in olive or a really pretty coral.
leopard tank $49.50, $20

Such good prices on these rompers below!  They are good dressed up or down and even as a pool cover-up.

romper XSP $79.50, $17.96

I think sizes must run large at Loft because I was size 00 in all the shorts. #vanitysizing I’m 5’0 and 113 pounds in these pics for size reference.

floral shorts $49.50, $13.96 | peplum top $10-$14 | wedge sandals
After the shorts, I fell in love with these crop chinos! They are lightweight, comfy and cute and a great alternative to jeans for summer.  How fun are the striped pair?!  I got a lot of use out of these pants the last couple of months.  I even like wearing them around the house.

Next up are two dresses that you can dress up for work, or can wear casually on the weekend.  Both are nursing friendly for those that asked what dresses I found easy to nurse in.

gingham drop waist dress $69.50, $27.50
This drop-waist style dress is a departure from what I normally wear, but I loved how loose and cool the fabric felt on and since it has that front button detail, it’s also good for breastfeeding.  It was a keeper and I already wore it to the movies with the kids.  And I did nurse in it!  Mom tip: movie theaters are a great place to nurse discreetly.

  1. Love kids in jerseys! My oldest made the trip to Austin from Idaho to support his beloved Fighting Irish. His 3 year old daughter was definitely getting her Irish on. Although, I wasn't thrilled with the outcome, I will say, it was a great game!

  2. We took our munchkin to her first football game when she was about 6 or 7 months old – and actually to her first indoor soccer match at maybe 3-4 months! But in all instances of sporting events, we used earmuffs to protect her ears (we really like the "EM for Bubs" brand).

    1. Good to know! I think we can protect her ears too, but we probably need to take her to a day game because she's usually out by 6:30. Thanks for sharing the brand you like, because I have no experience with them.
