Hair Update & Shoulder Baring Tops

Hello Monday friends! Did y’all have a good weekend?  We had such a nice time with family celebrating my Mom’s birthday on Saturday.  We don’t take her for granted for a minute and she’s been in heaven loving on her two new grandbabies.  My little brother has a 6 week-old too and I’m so happy to see our small but tight family growing!  Over the weekend, Jordan also graduated to full-on sitting on her own and now we have to watch her even more closely because she’s prone to tipping over and already bumped her head twice.  I have a baby update coming for you next week, so stay tuned.  And tomorrow, I’ll update you on the 40-Day Challenge and give you the specifics of what I’ve been eating with the macro breakdown.
Today, I’ve got two of the cutest off-the-shoulder looks to share with you.  The first one I’m especially in love with!  It comes in 7 colors and patterns and is super wearable because the arm holes are comfortable and keep the shoulders from riding up.

It’s not quite Fall yet, so for this look, I wore my aqua necklace and strappy nude heels, but in later, you could switch it up and play up the navy and wear booties.  Or get the red one!

Below is another off-shoulder top, this one with longer sleeves and a cute floral print.  I dig the navy/red combo and it’s on sale too, but sizes are limited.

Definitely get ready to start playing up your lips with the change in season.  My ‘go-to’ red lip is MAC Brave Red.  It’s a great true red that doesn’t look orange or pink.

Nordstrom has a great selection of cold-shoulder and off-shoulder tops at all price points.  I always read the reviews for fit and quality selection because they are so helpful.  If I’m unsure of my size, I get two and return the one that doesn’t fit since Nordstrom has free shipping and returns. The return label comes with your order, you don’t have to print a separate one or go to your computer to initiate a return.  I love that!

Finally, y’all have been seriously so kind and positive regarding this change from blonde to brunette hair. I know ‘it’s only hair’ but you get it and understand how it can make you feel.  The overwhelming majority of you said you liked my hair darker (which really surprised me)! It took awhile, but the darker hair finally grew on me, to the point where I actually prefer it now too.  You can tell from the pictures above though, that it needed some love to look more cohesive since I only had a partial low-light before and it had faded a lot.  The back and sides were still pretty light and and I had a dark streak on one side.
I got a chance to update it and get all-over color and I’m really loving it now.  The stylist tried to match my roots so the color can grow out naturally and now I’m really excited to see how it grows out.  Now it’s actually a bit lighter than I wanted (imagine that!) but as it grows out, it will be darker. I shouldn’t have to go back to the salon for touch up until early January!  #praisetheLORD!!!  That’s one thing I was really after!

I have to thank my reader for leaving her comment because that’s where I ended up going!  Thank you!! I would’ve went back to my regular stylist but she lives out of town, so I’d have to wait til she comes back in town. What do y’all think??

  1. Your hair looks fabulous! I wouldn't call it brunette at all – just darker blonde and I agree it looks so good with your skin tone. Less upkeep is a huge bonus. Glad it grew on you.
