Rompers | Night & Day

Rompers are so dang cute this time of year, if you can just get past that whole, having to strip down to go to the bathroom thing.  I say it’s worth it!  Today, I’ve got two adorable rompers to share with you- one for day and one you can dress up for night.  I’m also highlighting a couple style, hair and makeup tips!
day

I’m absolutely smitten with this soft, casual striped romper for day.  It’s short, short, but the high neckline balances it out and the material is really light and comfortable. It comes in 4 colors, and I ended up exchanging the pink for this navy striped one.  I’m sure this will see a lot of daylight in the near future.

Hair tip:  You hair doesn’t need to be perfect with this look.  A bit messy and effortless-looking is preferred!  I just pulled mine back in a loose ponytail and let the front layers run free.  It looks more playful and less severe than having all your hair pulled back.  I also think it frames your face better since it softens it.
Such a fun, flirty romper calls for a no-fuss bag.  This studded crossbody bag is just under $45 and also comes in black and blush.  The blush is really pretty!  This bag is also good because the strap is adjustable- I always have to bring mine up a bit so they hit just where I want them to, right below my hip.
Wear it with:  I’m wearing my fave lace-up, chunky heels with this romper, but if you don’t prefer a heel, you could wear the flat version or a sandal like this.  For an even more casual look, pair the romper with converse sneakers (the new perforated style is cool and perfect for summer).
That would be cute with a white denim jacket too if you wanted to layer.  This one comes in both regular and petite.  For a regular wash jean jacket, the Kut from the Kloth ‘Amelia’ is my personal favorite and the one I cried over leaving at home when I traveled to Dallas recently.
If I really wanted grab and go or was wearing this romper as a coverup to the pool, I’d have my flip flops on with it.
I told you this one is short, short.  Wear it with confidence. No fidgeting allowed! 😉  #ilikeshortshortsandicannotlie

night
Next up is a romper that you can wear in the evening, and for fun, I dressed it up with some super bright accessories and a bold lip color, why not?!

Makeup Tip:  A few of you have been asking what type of face powder I wear since I mentioned recently that I don’t usually wear foundation.  It’s this Mally pressed powder that I return to again and again in the shade “Light”.  It’s described as a ‘creamy powder foundation’ and you can apply it wet or dry and I do  a dry application.  I like it because it’s got good coverage, similar to foundation, but in a powder so I don’t have to worry about breakouts.
This romper is sheer, but lined and has a cami underneath.  I’m wearing a regular bra with it and the straps don’t show.  The back is cute too and has a tie closure.  It also comes in coral or green, but it looks turquoise to me.
This romper is a great alternative to your little black dress!  The hot pink heels and bright yellow bag take me back to my Madonna days of neon and day-glow leg warmers, but I think this is a fun twist for today.  I’ll find any opportunity to wear these heels- so fun that pink!  But they are ‘dinner-only heels’, I won’t be running any marathons in them.
Wear it with:   A safer, still chic route would be these heels (ooh la la!) and this clutch (keep it black or try a color, 6 to choose from and only $39.95!).

Have I convinced you, you need a romper in your life?  Do you like the day or night look better?

  1. Um, your legs look a mile long in that black romper and pink heels…and I'm LOVING the bright pink lip!!! #duh 😉 xoxox

  2. I liked the way you styled both of them however rompers are for younger women, if at all. With the navy romper, it's too small, too short and it doesn't fit you correctly. The romper looks like it cuts into the rear end which is typical if you have a more muscular booty. Nothing wrong with the booty of course, lol, it's just the wrong cut for it. You have to learn how to accent it correctly to show it off better. I think that first outfit would look more age appropriate and better with a simple pair of white shorts. You could still do a navy and white striped top just like the top in the romper and just substitute the white shorts. The accessories you chose look really cute and everything would look nice, age appropriate, and very figure flattering and still show off your curves.

For the second romper, again it's too short however the black is very pretty and the necklace and shoes look good. I think if this were a black dress, with the same exact styling only a little longer and instead of a romper, it would look great. I think you have the styling down you just need to work a little bit more on getting things that fit your body and are more figure-flattering. Overall, very nice styling.

    1. I love how thoughtful you always are in your comments! Of course I'm still going to be wearing my rompers! 😉 I agree with you that rompers will be MUCH more adorable on my little daughter! Dressing her is just too much fun!
