Nursery Bath Design Plan

We’re into week 3 with our precious baby girl, and her due date is actually today!  I didn’t know we were ready for her, but I’m so glad she’s here and healthy and thriving.  She’s been an angel baby so far, eating and sleeping really well and just as cute as can be.  I’m already getting a  taste of just how different the worlds of a newborn girl and 6-year old boy are!
Because she came early, I didn’t have a chance to finalize the nursery bath design until now.  You can see the before and some bathroom inspiration here.  Originally, I was considering adding open shelving to the space, but I’ve since fallen in love with a piece of art that I’d prefer to put in that spot, so you see it right when you walk in.  We’ll continue the lavender theme in her nursery into the bath, since the rooms are adjoined and so they feel cohesive.

1 |  Savoy House Connell 4-Light for Bath – Since the bathroom already has dark bronze fixtures, mirror frame, and drawer handles, I opted to continue that finish in the bathroom light, but the style of this fixture with edison bulbs is super cute for a nursery bath.   It’s challenging to add lavender to a room with such dark fixtures and counter, but I don’t have the time, energy, or inclination to switch out all of those elements now, so we’ll see how it turns out by just changing the decorative elements.
2 |  Gingham Shower Curtain – This was the starting point for the design and I love the playful gingham pattern and ruffled bottom for a baby or child’s bathroom. It also comes in blue and pink.  If all the patterns feel too busy with the floral art and rug, then this shower curtain is my second choice. It still has the ruffles, but is solid in color.
3 |  Lindsay Letters Art – The sentiment on this gorgeous floral art canvas is right on for how I feel about our Jordan, it says, “Hello Sweet Beautiful Girl”  I like how the art brings in other colors and I plan to have it framed in a simple white frame and hung on the wall above the toilet.
4 |  Flowers – of course!
5 | Guess How Much I Love You – I’m thinking of framing a few pages from this beloved book to put on the wall beneath the upper cabinets.
6 |  Safavieh Valencia Rug – This gorgeous, deep-hued runner rug fits our space perfectly and is super soft.  I adore it in lieu of a traditional bath mat.
7 |  Washcloths & Bath Towels – the basket below will hold washcloths and bath towels for easy access.
8 | White Basket – I received a similar basket at her baby sprinkle from all the sweet hostesses, so it’s sentimental to continue using it here.
I’m excited to see it all come together!  Can’t wait to show you soon!
