Easter Ideas

Well, Easter is Sunday and although we definitely have plans to go to church and my mom’s house afterward (and of course outfits picked out!), none of the other fun Easter things that go along with this special holiday have been done.  I haven’t decorated our dining room or table and I still need to put together an Easter basket for our son.  I was smitten with the little bird’s nests I incorporated into our Easter table a couple years ago, but it’s all I can do lately to just browse Pinterest for ideas, knowing full well that incorporating any of them into my real life is probably just a dream right now!

Unless there’s a craft or recipe that calls for breastfeeding a baby while you do it, it ain’t happening around here anytime soon.  I actually tried to cook dinner this week while my husband was still at work.  I got about halfway through before Jordan needed attention and I couldn’t put her down.  Well, I guess I could have, but I still would rather hold her than let her cry too long. #whippedalready

Pinterest holds my hand and keeps me company during lots of feeding times. You can join me and follow my boards here.  I’m sure I spend way too much time on that site . . . but look at the cool Easter things I found!

How cute is this color combo and the bunny sitting in faux grass?!

This adorable bunny cake comes with a printable recipe and Jenny makes it look so easy!
Who wouldn’t enjoy this Oreo goodness?!
Anyone could do this!  To create the bunny, she used using two loaves of bread (a Shepherd loaf and a baguette).
This is right up my alley, and our son loves pancakes for breakfast, so I might have to do this!

If you want something easy to do with your young kids, with items you have on hand already, this is for you!  Should keep em busy for at least a little while!
decorate eggs
We cannot forget about decorating eggs! Which reminds me we need to go to the grocery store. I’ve always wanted to try this shaving cream method that leaves your eggs with a cool, marbled effect.  Have you tried it?
I have a feeling my son would love these, especially given the “emoji text poster” he just sent to Cassie a few days ago! You just have to shake your head  and smile when you find things like this on your phone. 😉

Happy almost Easter! Are you ready?!
See you tomorrow for Weekend Steals & Deals!

    1. I try to be productive during naps! That weekend drawer project took the course of two days and several nap times! But glad I finally got it done!

  1. Do you have a swing for Jordan? I relied on the swing to help soothe while preparing meals. Also, easy one pan or crock pot dishes. You can prepare those while she is napping or even if James can entertain her for 15 minutes. I have posted a few really quick and easy healthy one dish/pan meals lately that might help, all for the most part are minimal prep and clean up. I have to laugh because while my parents were here after I had my second, I was the one making dinner the night we brought her home!! I was glad I got into the routine so early as my parents left on a two week trip two days later and I had NO help. Feet to the fire. A very dear friend of mine who has four found it helpful to pump and allow another family member to feed just prior to dinner so she had time to cook. Might be an option. It gets easier, hang in there. Most days I was doing good in the beginning to get 20 minutes of bouncy seat time so I could shower and dress.

    1. Yes, and actually put her in the swing yesterday and she slept the whole time I was making dinner!! One dish meals are the best! I kinda did that last night- sausage with peppers, onions, mushrooms and rice. Really easy and delicious. Having my mom here to help during the day is the biggest blessing.

  2. Such great ideas!!! We've watched the video you sent us of James dancing like 100 times!!! he's just a hoot!!
