Wardrobe Tuesday | Neutral Sweaters

Can I get an Amen for sweater weather lately?! Me and my 22 week baby bump are loving it!  I’m feeling good, but getting heavy!  For such a shorty, an extra 15 or so pounds feels like a ton and I know we’ve still got about halfway to go.  Being comfortable is king and I’m completely in maternity jeans now.  Also in my comfort zone (for my home decor as well as clothing) is neutrals!  I used to think I was so boring because most of my clothes were black, white, tan, beige, grey, etc.  But now I know that if that’s what you’re drawn to and love, go for it!  I do like color too and, over the years, have grown more comfortable wearing color (especially on my lips!) and I’ll show you more of that on Friday.
But today, let’s celebrate neutrals that are anything but boring!  First up, this super cozy cable knit cowl neck sweater.  Cable knit definitely says fall/winter and I was drawn to the oatmeal, but it also comes in a pretty charcoal grey.  I’m wearing regular XS (but Caslon tends to run large) so if you need a petite, they have that too.
If it were colder out, I’d layer a long sleeve tee underneath.  These arm holes are big, so be sure to at least layer a tank underneath so you’re not flashing your bra. I mean, unless that’s the look you’re going for. 😉

I was so interested to try this Halogen sleeveless cowl neck tunic on because I don’t have anything like it in my closet – love the shape and length!  It’s got high slits on the side, so I wouldn’t just wear tights underneath, but thick leggings, jeggings, pants, or a skirt would work.

A few days later, when it was cooler, I layered underneath a long sleeve white tee with tights and a black maternity skirt.  This long sleeve cotton tee is a great value- comfy and cute, in a ton of colors and only $25.  It’s gotten almost 500 positive reviews! Talk about a comfy outfit that still looks dressed up. I love shopping Nordstrom most often because I can always find everything I need in one spot.  I usually order online and take advantage of the free shipping and free returns.

I’m not one to usually splurge on sunglasses, but I was at Nordstrom recently and tried on a few pairs to find one that was ultra comfy and flattering and fell in love with this pair from Tory Burch.  They  come in four colors, but the pair I chose are are actually dark green with white sides.  I love them and think they’ll be great year round.  I just have to take care of them.  Luckily, they came with a super cute orange sunglass case.

Last week I shared my very favorite hat with you.  This one is one of the most face-flattering I’ve found and it’s price-friendly at $42.

Finally, what’s a great neutral without a stripe?! I love the black and white stripes and side zip detail in this Halogen sweater.  It comes in regular and petite and plus size too and other colors.

The other sweatshirt I’m crazy about is the Caslon Drape Neck Pullover (regular & petite).  I don’t know why I love a simple, grey sweatshirt so much, but the zip-neck detail on this one makes it  more special.  I also like that both of these tops are 3/4 length sleeves.  Better for right now, when it’s not super cold out.

Hope you have a great Tuesday!  I’m still getting used to the fact that it’s getting dark at 5:00 here!  Definitely makes me want to go to bed earlier!

  1. Love the drape neck pullover. Think I'll wait until it's on sale before buying. Are you loving your Skechers Go Walks? I heard another blogger talking about them, but just can't decide if they are for me. I like the look of my white converse low tops, but they really aren't that comfortable.

  2. Megan, you still look awesome. 22 weeks pregnant and you are still so put together and tiny! Enjoy the pregnancy, I had three of them, and each time I was so upset about the weight, and now I wish I enjoyed it more!!!
