It’s been a busy, emotional week with our son starting kindergarten on Wednesday. Already?!?! Already that school has started and already that he’s in kindergarten! I would’ve loved to have a few more weeks at home with him, but truth be told, we were both turning into big, lazy couch potatoes, so the change of pace will do us (both) good.
Even though we’ll miss each other during the day, seeing him with his buddies again brought lots of smiles. I love these kids! The adorable boy on the left is the middle’s little brother and it was his first day of PK3! James is on the right.
weekend steals & deals
While James was at his first day of school (which was just a half day), I took advantage of the few hours to myself with a solo trip to Target and Nordstrom. It was the first time I’d shopped alone in several months- nice and quiet! Let me show you some of my finds!
I chose the aqua and coral, but it comes in other colors.
I’m also a sucker for a great,
thin knit pullover sweater (I’m wearing size Small) and found this v-neck style in stripes! You can dress this top up with a contrasting collared shirt underneath too. I get lots of wear out of tops like these in Houston since I tend to get cold in an office or at restaurants/movies.
I didn’t see this button down at the store, but found it online and adore the check pattern with contrasting stripe sleeve. Super cute!
These
simple breezy shift dresses are a summer to fall wardrobe staple (in the fall add tights if it’s chilly). I can’t wait to pair them with my fall booties! I like to wear these blousy dresses to dinner and not worry about any after-dinner tummy pouch. 😉 Great for showing off your legs too.
This
BP Denim Jacket runs small (I think I tried on the small), so you probably want to size up, but I liked the slimmer cut for not adding too much bulk. It’s got some stretch to it too so it’s nice and soft.
The chunky knit style of this cardigan is perfect too. And it has pockets!
And a poncho that fits too! I loved the poncho I bought last year, it was especially great for traveling in, but I gave it to my mom. This one is pretty thin, which I’m thinking is actually better for my part of the county, and I liked the neutral plaid design and frayed hem.
And the
Zella Z5 Tee, v-neck, ruched top is such great quality. I’d like to get more colors and might have to scoop them up at this price. I’m wearing size XS here.
