Snakeskin Kleenex Box from Duct Tape
In honor of the upcoming romantic holiday, I had some fun with my manicure opting for an accent color on my ring fingers. I’m fond of this trend right now,…
Happy Wednesday friends! You know what that means, a quickie mid-week post to share the best of the web deals out there! I know you have places to go and…
And just like that, it’s May! Countdown to the end of the school year (aka Teacher gifts), Mother’s Day, and did you know that May is the 3rd most popular…
How’s your week going friends? I’m just over here counting down the days ’til the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like a kid at Christmas! It’s so close, opening this Thursday for cardholders. ??I got a friendly letter in the mail letting me know they upped my limit just in time for the sale- #thankyouverymuch! We’ll keep this little detail to ourselves and not bother the hubby with that tidbit of info! 😉 Are you excited?!?! Of course, I’ll be sharing my picks on Thursday and then a big ‘ole dressing room round up on Friday with fit tips and recommendations. Let me know what you have questions about and I’ll do my best investigative journalism for ya!
1. Cold Shoulder Dress $118 $50
This swingy striped! cold shoulder dress is perfect for daytime or evenings out. Love the simplicity of it and the drapey fabric. Such a steal at right under $50! For a daytime look, you could wear it with the #10 sandals (they have lots of colors) & for evening, these black open toe heeled sandals would be great.
2. Statement Ring $50 $20
Show off your summer mani with this gorgeous, chic statement ring! I like to wear it on my first or middle finger on my right hand with a bold bracelet.
3. Crystal & Enamel Hinged Bangle $48 $41
This simple bangle bracelet is the perfect layering piece to your watch or with a stack of other bracelets, or worn simply alone.
4. Blue Maxi Dress $52 $39
I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this maxi dress before. Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and it’s really flattering and comfortable. It’s on sale under $40! I wear XS.
5. Peacock Iphone Case $50 $25
How cute is this peacock phone case?! Your mirror selfies will be so much cuter with this little guy peeking out in them!
6. Zella High Waist Crop Leggings $65 $43
High waist leggings will be your BFF, I swear! They keep you all nice and tucked in and make you feel great while working out. Zella quality is always superb, and this pair comes in three colors with criss-cross detail at the calf. They run TTS, I wear size XS.
7. Z 6 Ruched Tee $32 $16
Although I normally wear a tank to workout, this Zella tee is my go-to when I want a t-shirt. The seams in the shirt are perfectly placed to help the illusion of a smaller waist and I like the cut of the sleeves that don’t irritate me when I’m working out.
8. Faux Leather Saddle Bag $79 $53
This crossbody bag is the prettiest light and navy blue combo. It’s also a good size, so it will hold all your necessities and then some.
9. Striped Tank $19 $11
My go-to tank, $11!!! I think I need to stock up on the other colors. It’s perfect for wearing alone or layering under cardigans or other tops. It fits TTS, XS here.
10. GiGi Sandals $60 $42
I have the older version of these sandals and they are really good! They come in tons of colors and the “beige leather” has a snakeskin pattern that goes with everything. Sam Edelman makes quality shoes that last, so I highly recommend them!
Hallelujah I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping- just a couple more things to pick up and it’s all done! Nothing like only having two days to spare! And, I…
Hi friends! How’s your week going? I’ve been in California visiting Grandma Nola with my mom and Jordan. It’s been so good to spend time with her and she’s in great…
Hi! I’m Megan, mom to a thoughtful teenager and spunky young girl. We call Houston home and recently moved into our dream home. I traded my lawyer hat to become a full-time blogger in 2010. Who knew a Kleenex box could look so chic?? What a fun idea!
Thanks Lauren! You have my favorite girl name!
Such an easy and fun project! Thanks for sharing! I'm thinking about stopping at our local craft store and trying this out myself 🙂
So many great tape patterns out there now!
I found your blog yesterday through Pinterest Told Me To. I love it!!! And it's perfect timing since we are in the process of building. I wanted to ask you a question. We are finalizing electrical and plumbing and I noticed that in your bathroom you didn't have any sconces by your vanitites. I am not a fan of sconces and had finally resolved to drilling holes in the mirror to have side sconces instead of overhead ones, which I like even less. But, then I saw your bathroom and saw that you don't have any, and only have can lighting above! My question is, does it provide enough light? This is definitely the way I would prefer to do our bathroom if it functions well. I appreciate all the great ideas I'm already gleaning from your site! Thanks a bunch for sharing. 🙂
I do have plenty of light in our bathroom, but we also have a large window in between the two vanities. I often have to close the blinds some because it's too bright! I think sconces in the bath can be so pretty if you find ones you like. Thanks so much for visiting. Sheaffer's post was so funny! and flattering! 🙂
Great project. Yes, I like to have them available throughout the house but the standard boxes are so not pretty!!
They have made strides in making the boxes prettier, but I prefer this version. 🙂
What a great idea! Loves it!
Thank you!
Very stylish indeed!
By the way, thank you for the picmonkey information the other day. I am just getting back to blogging again and look forward to trying it out this weekend. I didn't get a chance to comment on your post.
I'm glad you found it helpful. I don't usually write about blogging, but I love reading tips myself, so I may do more in the future.
That looks so cool! Love it!
Thanks Ashley!
I love this idea!! I wonder if you could use the same concept of the duct tape, but cover it with the marble contact paper you used in another post. I think that might look really cool or not…I'll have to try!
