Today wraps up the final day of our Christmas Cheer Holiday link party, where you can share your favorite holiday recipe with Natasha and Heather. I’m featuring these decadent caramel brownies with Ghirardelli dark caramel chocolate squares layered inside.
They couldn’t be easier to make, since you just add the chocolate caramels in between the brownie batter.
Being a huge chocolate lover and Ghirardelli fan (they make the best instant hot cocoa mix), I couldn’t help but scoop up this cookbook a while ago.
The recipe is pretty basic and easy to assemble.
Beat eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla.
In another bow, combine the ground chocolate, flour, baking powder, and salt. Then stir into the egg mixture.
See the gooey caramel center?! They seriously melt in your mouth! Mmmm . . . .

My hubby's favorite chocolates inside a brownie? He will love them!!
Oh my goodness, Megan, these look too yummy! I love Ghirardelli chocolate, too.
Oh my gosh! Yum!
Yummy, gooey and decadent! I will have to make a batch this weekend. We used to love going to the Ghiradelli Chocolate Factory as kids.
You never say when to add the butter. I assembled everything and it didn't look right. I'm a TOTAL baking novice so it didn't occur to me that something was missing. THANKS.
Oh, you are right Shara- I'm so sorry and thanks for letting me know! I updated the recipe.
