Fall Table Settings

October has arrived!  Can you believe it?  We are inching toward one of my favorite times of the year and I’m ready for it!  Houston was teased with some cooler weather this weekend, which has me really wishing for temperatures below 80.  I think we’re gonna have to wait awhile longer though:(
This weekend I was thinking of some creative ways to add flair to our autumn table settings, and came up with a few ideas I think you’ll like.  I will share the first one with you today, and a few others later in the week.
Our original Fall table was infused with traditional seasonal colors like rusty orange, gold and amber.  I placed a faux feather in the center of the plate, but wanted to see what else I could do to play with the setting.

At Michaels, I picked up a few inexpensive packages of goodies for just a few dollars.  Below is how I arranged a couple of tiny eggs, a little bird, and a small nest. I think the result is adorable!

I actually like the bird and nest resting on the burnt orange napkin better than on the plate alone.  The colors are so pretty.
I’ll show you some place card ideas later this week and our Fall porch.  I actually found myself listening to Christmas music over the weekend.  I guess I’m already in the holiday spirit!  We’ll be picking out James’ Halloween costume soon- so far, he’s torn between being Superman or a Circus Ringmaster.
I hope your Monday is off to a great start!

  1. Love the colorful birds. So cute. My spiritual goal for the week is to live in the moment, but I cannot help look forward to Christmas. Our house just seems so much warmer and cozier with snow outside, tree lit, cocoa, and christmas movie on the TV. There is something wonderful though about Autumn in the midwest. The kids and I took an awesome nature walk last week, and soaked in the autumn colors!

  2. I love the little bird and nest,so cute.I thought I was the only crazy one that listens to Christmas music in October.Good luck with the new blog!

  3. where is your gold flatware from? i've been looking forever and can't seem to find exactly what i want. also, is it a flat gold like it looks in the picture or is it shiny?

  4. Beautiful table setting. Love the warm colors, and the little bird is precious. Still working on fall decor here. I used to go all out when our girls were younger, but not so much anymore.

  5. Love the little bird! My husband has been playing Charlie Brown Thanksgiving music for the past month…that type music just makes everything better 🙂

  7. Its beautiful Megan! Yes I am so ready for cooler weather too. It was actually chilly this morning and I wore a jacket, but of course it will be 80 later today. 🙁

  8. Really so pretty, Megan. I love the nests. And you are right. The napkin on the plate is such a pretty color combo.

  9. I made the trek over to the warehouse to get my fall decorations but that is about as far as I have gotten. It has been HOT here and it just hasn't gotten me into the fall mood yet. I better hurry before Christmas is here. You setting looks so fallish, I love it Megan. You becoming quite the styler 🙂
