Up until age 2, I did a monthly post about my son. Now, I’m updating periodically, and saving precious memories that are making up his childhood. I want to remember that at this age (2 1/2), my son was obsessed with guitars.
Even Friday afternoon, when we went to the bookstore and I told him I wanted to get a magazine before we headed to the kids section to play with Thomas the Train, he ran right to this and said, “You wanna get a guitar magazine Mama?”
Before we bought him a little ukelaili, he turned everything into a guitar.
A flyswatter . . .
even a kickboard . . .
He obviously likes to sing. But he wants you to sing with him, hence his constant requests to “sing it with me” which you can hear at the end of this video. But then there are times you might be happily singing along to the radio and he says, “mama stop singing.”
We’re at the age where he also requests certain songs when we get into the car. His favorites are “Everywhere that I Go” which he calls, “Everywhere I Go and I am Yours” because that’s the next line of the song. He knows all the words and sings it all the time. He also still requests Michael Jackson.
He’s really good at the ABC’s, except that trickly LMNO part.
And our most recent photos after Day 3 of preschool. (It took me three days to get the settings right on my camera for a good shot). I got this one by playing “Where’s James?” and he popped out behind the tree.
He can finally reach the pedals on his tricycle that he got for Christmas 2010 from his aunt and uncle.
How’s your week going friends? I’m just over here counting down the days ’til the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale like a kid at Christmas! It’s so close, opening this Thursday for cardholders. ??I got a friendly letter in the mail letting me know they upped my limit just in time for the sale- #thankyouverymuch! We’ll keep this little detail to ourselves and not bother the hubby with that tidbit of info! 😉 Are you excited?!?! Of course, I’ll be sharing my picks on Thursday and then a big ‘ole dressing room round up on Friday with fit tips and recommendations. Let me know what you have questions about and I’ll do my best investigative journalism for ya!
This swingy striped! cold shoulder dress is perfect for daytime or evenings out. Love the simplicity of it and the drapey fabric. Such a steal at right under $50! For a daytime look, you could wear it with the #10 sandals (they have lots of colors) & for evening, these black open toe heeled sandals would be great.
Show off your summer mani with this gorgeous, chic statement ring! I like to wear it on my first or middle finger on my right hand with a bold bracelet.
I’m sure you’ve heard me rave about this maxi dress before. Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments and it’s really flattering and comfortable. It’s on sale under $40! I wear XS.
High waist leggings will be your BFF, I swear! They keep you all nice and tucked in and make you feel great while working out. Zella quality is always superb, and this pair comes in three colors with criss-cross detail at the calf. They run TTS, I wear size XS.
Although I normally wear a tank to workout, this Zella tee is my go-to when I want a t-shirt. The seams in the shirt are perfectly placed to help the illusion of a smaller waist and I like the cut of the sleeves that don’t irritate me when I’m working out.
My go-to tank, $11!!! I think I need to stock up on the other colors. It’s perfect for wearing alone or layering under cardigans or other tops. It fits TTS, XS here.
I have the older version of these sandals and they are really good! They come in tons of colors and the “beige leather” has a snakeskin pattern that goes with everything. Sam Edelman makes quality shoes that last, so I highly recommend them!
Happy new year friends! Did you do anything fun to celebrate last night?! Like most of this winter break, we’ve been staying in and taking it easy, so it was…
As much as I love browsing through design magazines looking at beautifully designed spaces, what delights me most is seeing the “real life” rooms that are created by talented folks,…
Good morning friends! Today is a special day where I’m joining several of my blog friends for the Decked & Styled Holiday Tour and I’m extending a warm hello and…

Such a big boy now! Love the last shot of him on his tricycle. 🙂
James is a doll!! Enjoy this time…they grow so fast. Mine is 13 now and although I am enjoying this time with him as he enters the teen years (mostly), I miss the sweet little boy who wanted to cuddle and hold hands with me!
Peek a boo gets the cutest photos! Also, fake sneezes work well. I am happy to discover your sweet little blog…loving it! I am up North now, but orignally from Texas and had met you a few times (years ago) from mutual friend. Glad to see you happily married and loving life!
What a cutie! Ive really enjoyed reading about James, he reminds me so much of my son Andrew (also 2 1/2). He absolutely loves all musical instruments… His latest obsession… The accordion!
James is so cute! Such determination on his tricycle!! I would love to see some of your fall fashion wants! I posted about mine in the two links below!
I love the guitar too James! I have a pretty one that sits in our living room, I was hoping I would finally become inspired to learn to play. Love the pictures of James and seeing him grow from here.
He has grown so much since he first got the tricycle! What a cutie! Their obsessions never seize to amaze me…my daughter wants to wear her yellow bikini all day, everyday!
