Pinterest Challenge

It's true, I like Pinterest.  A lot.  I wrote and published a post about it, but Blogger ate it and now I can't find it.  But, back to how much I like Pinterest.  I'm on the website several times a day (if only for a few minutes, I swear, if my boss is reading this!)   I just looked at my page on Pinterest and realized I have 55 boards and have pinned 1756 items!  Is that a lot?  If you are on Pinterest, how many boards and pins do you have?  Just curious.

I use Pinterest mainly to catalog design ideas, food inspiration and things I'd like to cook or bake (I've been on a cooking binge lately so I pinned about 20 new things yesterday), things I'd like to buy, and crafty things I want to make.

Like these:

But I often find myself doing more pinning than making.
That's what's great about the "Pinterest Challenge" - we're all encouraged to C R E A T E instead of just sitting on our couches, eating ice cream, and pinning away!  Oops, is that only me??  Well, at least it's Abby (A Delightful Design) too!

And that just prompted me to look at Abby's boards, she's pinned over 2800 items!  I'm in good company:)

I'm super excited that my friend Cassie (Hi Sugarplum!) is also hosting this season's (yes, apparently it's still winter) Pinterest Challenge along with Erin (The Great Indoors), Sherry (Young House Love), and Katie (Bower Power).

If you don't know Cassie, you may have seen some of her craftiness floating around blogland recently:

Here's what Cassie says we do to participate in the Winter Pinterest Challenge:

1. Simply find something you've pinned on Pinterest....if you can narrow it down! It can be anything, big or small.

2. Create your version from the Pinsperation and blog about it (be sure to include the pin and original link so the creator gets credit, too).

3. Then come back next Wednesday, March 14, and share it at Hi Sugarplum. That way we can all marvel in what you've done, and probably pin it! And thus the evil cycle continues.

I'm in!  See ya next Wednesday!

  1. I love 'pinterest' too!! I'm going to try my hardest to do this challenge :D

    check out my pinterest :)

  2. Great idea!!

I seriously always wonder if I am the only one doing WAY to much pinning and not enough making.
I will take on this challenge gladly :)

  3. I love pinterest too! Can't wait to see what you come up with. Happy 2nd birthday to James, the party looked great!

  4. Oh my gosh - it is ridiculous! Over 4000 now and I just can't make myself stop! How did this happen? :)

  5. I guess I am a slow pinner. I only have 21 boards and 202 pins.
My favorites are the recipes! I am looking forward to the pinterest challenge. It has given me the motivation I needed to finish my current project.

  6. I have a Done it/Got it board.

I just looked, I've done 41 things. :) And I'm doing more today, actually.

When something gets in my head, I have to do it. My husband says I have a window pop up, and I have to do it or the window won't minimize. :)

  7. With having over 11,000 pins I think its about time for me to join in too. What a great challenge!

  8. 31 boards, and 1273 pins here. We're renovating a bathroom right now, and it has been helpful looking over all of my bathroom pins to get an idea of what kind of look we're going for.

  9. What a fun challenge!!!

...oh and your in good company, I have 43 boards and 1942 pins! YIKES!! I guess I'm obsessed too!!

  10. Oh meggie!!! Thanks for the shoutout!!! I'm excited about this challenge and can't wait to see what everyone makes1

now I'm curious of how many boards and pins I have! I need to make more boards, I tend to put lots in one and that makes it hard to find stuff later.

  11. I am a slow pinner and only have 191 pins. I also have a real hodge podge, like the one with lots of hair styles. I am trying to narrow down what project I will attack.

  12. 1756 is a reasonable about of pins to have! I've have been addicted since I first found pinterest. I have 3411 pins and that is after clearing out a bunch knowing that I will never make/buy/bake/use whatever it was that I pinned. I blame my large number of pins on my sister's upcoming wedding and always wanting to redecorate/diy my home!! I have a list of things I could accomplish for the pinterest challenge! I am hoping to cross a few off my list!!

  13. I'm addicted to Pinterest, I have so many different interests & I love that it's one place to pull it all together and it's visual. Probably one of the top apps on my phone.

I have 73 boards & 5535 (and counting) pins. I just moved into a new place and really want to try some decorating / recipes.

  14. I love Pinterest too! This should make you feel better.... 65 boards and 3608 Pins.

  15. Pinterest - almost like a bad a drug. The addiction is crazy!

  16. I'm so excited for the challenge! I've only participated in one of them before. Now I've just got to browse through 49 boards and 2261 pins to figure out what I want to do! Can't wait to see what you create! :)

  17. haha! I have over 3,600 pins!!! eek! I'm addicted!! AND I still rip out pages from magazines. Been doing that for over 12 years, can't stop now! But pinterest has helped me curb it {a little}.
    follow me if you want!!
    I don't have a blot {yet} but I adore design!!!

  18. I pin not just for me but for others {well that is the excuse I use for my excessive pinning} but hey it pays off, look at the settee you got right? So my boards aren't just for me to make, they are inspiration for others to use as well. Sometimes, like the settee, I find great deals or wonderful tutorials that I may or may not buy or make, but I know that others would, so I pin it. That is what I love about Pinterest! It's a great way to share with everyone.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, I read every one! I try to answer questions in the comment section since many readers are "no reply" and so everyone can benefit from the response- so please check back. :)
