Creating a Beautiful, Bright Boy’s Room (via A Thoughtful Place)

After sharing peeks into her young son’s “big boy” room, my good friend Courtney (A Thoughtful Place) recently revealed the whole room:)  I am such a fan of how she pulled the room together and adore her color combination and personal touches.  You can see more photos of the room and read about the handmade projects on her blog here.

Our son is barely two and has never crawled out of his crib, so we’re in no hurry to get him in a “big boy” bed, but this room sure is inspiring me for the future!  AWESOME job Court!  I’m sure G loves it!
*And I also wanted to mention that Courtney is a contributor to the online decor and lifestyle magazine, House of Fifty, and their latest issue is out today.  Go HERE to read it:)

  1. So gorgeous! Too bad I have a boy and a girl sharing the same room. That limits me a lot as far as decorating goes. I would love if you could share some ideas for shared bedrooms!!

  2. She did such an awesome job! I have definitely filed this room away for some inspiration in the future. I love, love, love that cute green dresser!

  3. What a cheerful room to grow up in! The colors and patterns really make the space but it will be no trouble to change up when her little guy gets older. Love the repurposed dresser and dressing up the bed with new hardware. Beautifully done!

  4. Courtney did a beautiful job! Great color combination and I love the stripes and polka dots together. She is so talented. I think my favorite part of the room is the tree and the special meaning it holds. Getting ready to download HOF on my iPad now!

  5. OMG I love this but I thought it was for a tween girl's room! HAHA! The tree/birds is SO feminine! Looks like a girl room in some pics. Love the toy closet, though.

  6. I've been obsessing over the wide navy and white stripes in the toy closet. I had pinned something similar a few months ago.

My 2.5 year old boy is still happy in his crib, so I'm happy to leave him there:) But we do have a similar color scheme: navy and blue with pops of lime and white.

  7. Courtney did such an awesome job with this room! It is adorable, but in a big boy way of course! 🙂 Courtney has such great style!

  9. Yeah mother knows best. and being a good mother you cannot afford seeing your son's bedroom in great mess! i can say she has a creativity. I'm sure she is happy seeing her son happy and comfortable with the room design. i will take time to bookmark your blog for ease of access.
