Easter Brunch

Easter is upon us again, one of my favorite holidays.  Full of the freshness and newness of Spring perfectly consistent with the hope that Jesus brought when he rose!  Thank God for that! image image via This year, after church, we are hosting a small Easter brunch at our house.  I love the casualness of brunch, it’s easy and relaxing.  Having the brunch at home gives the kiddos free reign and lets the adults kick back and enjoy the morning without worrying about keeping kids in check at a restaurant.  I love a simple, light table setting with a few containers of flowers in the same hue.  Too bad our view to the backyard isn’t as stunning!  image image via But, what I really love about brunch is the food! I’ve always been a breakfast-for-dinner kind of gal, known to enjoy pancakes (with peanut butter and syrup!) or eggs in the evening.  My cooking skills aren’t all that great, but my French toast, coffee cake, and blueberry muffins are actually pretty good.  Fresh fruit is simple enough to assemble and with some coffee, oj, and perhaps a little champagne, you’ve got yourself a little brunch party! image images via 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 And after we eat, of course it’ll be time for an Easter egg hunt!  I’ve been really impressed with the different variety of decorated eggs I’ve seen lately.  We haven’t done any here yet though.  image images via 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 I’m really looking forward to it!  What are your plans??

  1. Sounds like a great Easter day! We generally do the same thing, except no Easter egg hunt! We will be out of town this year (the first time away from my family on Easter)!

And I totally eat peanut butter and syrup on my pancakes and waffles. Great minds think alike! 🙂

  2. Yum! All the Easter brunch items look delicious! We're going to brunch with the family, after Church! Looking forward to spending some time with family and finally eating cheese! 🙂

  3. Yum! My mouth is watering just looking at the photos. Love breakfast anytime of the day! Our oldest will be home overnight, so we will enjoy the day with both girls after church in the morning.

  4. I love the idea of an Easter Brunch. We host a huge Easter dinner at our house each year. My mom started this dinner in 1986 and my husband and I took it over in 2005. So it is a tradition. We don't do an Easter egg hunt but I've been thinking of adding it.

BTW, I love breakfast for dinner too 🙂

  5. Beautiful photos!!! I think this year we're going to go out to a nice lunch after church and then home for an egg hunt. T's parents tend to hog the holidays, but they aren't in town this year (isn't that awful of me??!). I'm looking forward to doing things differently this year. 😉

  6. Sounds like you guys are going to have a great and yummy Easter! We're having a pool party at my in-laws…so hopefully my very white legs will start to tan.

  8. I loved this post, Megan! All the photos and ideas you compiled put a bit ol' smile on my face.

Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. This year, Mr. M won't be home, unfortunately, but one of my best girlfriends from college will be flying in to visit Sunday afternoon. I think we'll try one of the egg creations you've featured!

  9. Sounds like a really fun Easter! We're actually hosting out first Easter as a married couple here at our house! Am I crazy? Probably… but I think it's going to be so fun and I'm really looking forward to it. I hope you and yours have a wonderful Easter together! =]

  12. I love brunch & we rarely do it. We do have breakfast for dinner but that's mostly in the winter months. We're having a relaxing, casual BBQ by the pool with family Sunday.

  13. Beautiful photos! So inspiring! I just want to take a day off and decorate for Easter! and your little James is soooo cute….He's going to have so much fun searching for Easter eggs this year!

  14. I recognize those pics! 😉 We'll be in Paris for Easter, dahling!! We sat at the Easter table I set the other night…and I'm making the kids Easter baskets. Not sure if I'll give to them before we leave, or hide for treats on Sunday. I have Friday off so we'll prob do something fun then. Oh, and I totally eat PB on my pancakes!! Wow, is this comment going on long enough? No? I can ramble more! I have a recipe for a coffee cake that is SICK…we make it Christmas morning. It's really just yellow cake with more sugar! yum. Okay, i'm done now.

  16. My sister and me are dyeing eggs. I'm making Easter dinner consisting of glazed ham (honey and coconut rum), cabbage rolls, hot cross buns, yams (for my mom, she has a potato allergy), mashed potatoes for us, sauteed brussel sprouts. For dessert it's apple pie.
