Packing for Blissdom

Is it ever easy to get out of town??  Today’s ‘to do’ list felt a mile long, and not everything got accomplished (the workout fell to the bottom of the totem pole in terms of priorities) but I managed to get my nails done, do some shopping, run to the grocery store, do laundry, figure out what to pack, halfway pack my suitcase, print my boarding pass and Bilssdom ticket, and pick up some champagne to toast to a fun time with the girls! image I’m really hoping everything fits into my suitcase.  It’s crazy how much space just the beauty products take up!  I like to use my own hairdryer when I travel, but it’s so big along with the brushes, curling iron, etc.  And I’m not evening bringing my other curling iron or flatiron!  p.s. I love my Henri Bendel makeup bags.  HB is one of my absolute favorite stores in NY, and I hear they have one in Dallas too now.  image Here’s the other mountain of stuff that has to fit.  The computer and electronics will carry on with me.  I will also carry on the two small HB makeup bags because I really don’t want to have to replace any of that stuff last minute should something happen to my suitcase. image I’m really looking forward to the trip, but will be so sad to leave James.  Knowing he’s in good hands with Daddy, and having the support and encouragement of my family, makes me feel so secure and thankful to God! If you’re heading to Nashville too, I hope to see you.  Please stop and say hi!!!!!  And I will really miss everyone who isn’t going.  Isn’t it a bummer that we live so far apart?

  1. Safe travels Megan! Wish I were going, but the timing just wasn't right. James will be fine, it's good for him to have some "daddy time" and for you to get a break!! Can't wait to hear all about it.

  2. Have the best time ever! Your packing looks relatively sane compared to mine 🙂 Hope to be there next year!!

  3. You are going to have a blast! James will be just fine, don't you worry. Fill us all in when you get back, have a great time Megan.

  4. I think you and I are kindred spirits. I don't know the meaning of "packing light." I am physically unable to pack less than 2 pairs of shoes. 😉

I'm hosting my own little "conference" today for girls who didn't get the chance to go to Blissdom this year. I'm still bummed about missing out, but trying to make the best of it. 😉

  5. One Creative Momma- that big purse was a Christmas gift from my girlfriend- she specifically said she could see my carrying it to Nashville. Gotta love friends like that!

Tyla- how funny to know I have a twin- send me her pic!! 🙂

  6. Have a fabulous trip – I always like to take my hair dryer too as the hotel ones are usually rubbish unless you are staying somewhere super stylish?! Love those HB make up bags!

  7. I always bring my own hair dryer with me whenever I travel also… Although one time when I was going overseas I went out and bought a new hair dryer. I was so stoked… than as we were flying over the Atlantic I was thinking about how soft and silky my new hair dryer would make my hair feel… than it dawned on me… our plugs [in the states] would not fit into European outlets… Bummer!

Sorry for the rambling. Have fun at Blissdom! [although im still not quite sure what it is but im seeing it pop up all over Blogland lol].

  8. Have fun!! Nothing better than knowing james will be happy at home with his Daddy. I always relax more when our little is home with hers.

  11. Since following your blog I have often thought (well, actually every time I visit I think this) that you and my niece could pass for, if not twins, sisters. Now, after reading how you pack for trips, I KNOW you must be related. Have fun at Blissdom.

  12. Okay, I should have more closely paid attention. Not only do you and my niece look alike, you are both MEGANS! This is too funny! I'll have to share a pic of her one day

  13. So what exactly IS Blissdom? I always hear about it in the blogging world, but I don't know what it is or how to sign up.

  17. Have a great time in Nashville! It's one of my favorite cities, we were just there for New Years. If you have time I highly recommend you eat at the Stockyard (they have a complimentary shuttle that will pick you up) and Jack's on Bway for BBQ, it's worth the line. Have fun!
