Making Friends

Many of you know that I’m new to this stay-at-home mom thing, and that one of the reasons I started my blog was to “meet” other like-minded women, who enjoyed design, home decor, and were similarly making their house into home.  I’ve been really blessed to meet so many new friends over my computer screen, but recently, I had the pleasure of meeting in-person! one of my favorite blog authors, Cassie of Hi Sugarplum!   It can be a little intimidating to go on a “blind date”, but I’m so glad I did!  It was so fun to meet Cassie face-to-face.   We instantly clicked and talked for hours, shutting down the restaurant.   We chatted about family, work, our decor projects, blogging, hair (she does this awesome curl thing with hers!)- you know- normal girl stuff:)  Here’s a pic from our meeting (I’m on the left, Cassie’s on the right).  Isn’t she pretty?!  image Too bad you can’t see the awesome necklace she was wearing in that photo.  One of the reasons I enjoy Hi Sugarplum! so much is because Cassie is witty and a bit sarcastic, but she is actually just a sweetheart with a great sense of humor in “real life”.  You can go here to see Cassie’s post about meeting me:)  And if you haven’t been to Hi Sugarplum, here’s just a few of my favorite posts: Rescued Tray {She inspired me to do something similar over the weekend} image Guest Bathroom Makeover {Love the color, stripes, shower curtain, art and accessories} image Outfit Inspiration Posts {She does these weekly and they are so fun} image image While we’re talking friends, I wanted to introduce you to another awesome blog I recently found, Name 5 Things.   image Emily has a great sense of style and I’m loving what she’s done in her home.  Here’s a peek: Living Room {Isn’t is serene and cozy looking?  I love the wall color, art, and table vignette- so classic} image Wallpapered Bookshelves {The pattern on the paper is so pretty and I really appreciate a well-styled bookcase} image Bedroom – Wallpaper Panels {This whole room is perfect.  The soothing wall color, molding and shutters, starburst mirror and mirrored table, bed and bedding.  Can I come over and take a nap?!} image And speaking of meeting friends, I’d like to meet YOU!  I just committed to going to Blissdom, although I haven’t quite figured out what I’m going to do with James since the conference is during the week (January 26-28, 2011 in Nashville, TN). image Are you going?  Pretty please!!

  7. How fun to get to meet Emily! I'm definitely adding her blog to my reading list. I've been too chicken to meet any other bloggers in real life, and although I'd LOVE to go to a big blogger conference like Blissdom, it all sounds a bit overwhelming to me. But now you've got me thinking about it again. I've always thought Blissdom sounded amazing!

  8. How fun!

I have never met any Bloggers in 'Real Life', but I think it would tons of fun to meet some!
