Best Inexpensive Fresh Flower

It’s got to be carnations!  I love having fresh cut flowers in my home, but don’t like paying big bucks for them, especially when they die after just a few days.  These carnations (in varying shades of violet) seriously last forever!  They are the SAME ones I posted about here.  10-12 days later and, although a few wilted and had to be tossed, the majority of them still look great!  See . . .

Isn’t it just great to see some fresh flowers at your kitchen sink?  Makes doing dishes a bit cheerier:)

Do tell, what flower have you found that really lasts?

  1. I love the fresh flower look too, but do tell your secret to keeping them alive!! Food? Changing the water? Help! No matter what, mine always seem to die within a week :/

  2. Lindsay- I don't do anything to keep these babies alive! That's the thing- I sometimes add more water if I see it's getting low, but really they are that low maintenance:)

  3. I totally agree! I would buy a bouquet of these about every 2 weeks in college to brighten up my dorm and they would last forever! I like the purple though, I've never seen them in that shade of violet. Love them (:

  4. LOVE the purple color so much! And yes, carnations and daisies last forever!!!!

  5. Hi, Megan! You know, I usually hate carnations, but if I found such pretty ones like you have, in that beautiful color, I would certainly buy them. They look so adorable in your beautiful kitchen!
    Best regards,

  6. Oh, and what flower have I found that usually lasts? A silk flower! I know that most people hate silk flowers, but I absolutely ADORE silk flowers!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, I read every one! I try to answer questions in the comment section since many readers are "no reply" and so everyone can benefit from the response- so please check back. :)
